Influenza Other Respir Viruses
November 2024
Background: Seasonal influenza may lead to severe complications, including respiratory and cardiovascular disease, that result in considerable healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and mortality, particularly in older individuals. This real-world study assessed the burden of influenza and its potential complications in older Japanese adults.
Methods: This retrospective claims database analysis (April 2015 to June 2019) included insured individuals aged ≥ 60 years at the start of four consecutive influenza seasons in Japan (October 1 to April 30).
Background Gadoxetic acid (EOB)-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) (EOB-MRI) can be used as a one-stop examination for detecting liver tumors and evaluating liver function. Purpose The study aimed to assess the functional liver reserve (FLR) using the T1 map from the hepatobiliary phase of EOB-MRI by conducting a comparison with the results of conventional FLR tests and the technetium-99m (99mTc)-galactosyl serum albumin (GSA) scintigraphy. Materials and methods The retrospective data from 43 patients were included in the study.

Case Presentation: We report acute psychotic dissociation induced by DXM and alcohol in a patient with alcohol dependence, which made it difficult to distinguish alcohol withdrawal symptoms with limited information.
