The teleost scale is a unique calcified tissue that contains osteoclasts, osteoblasts, osteocytes and the bone matrix, similar to mammalian bone. Here, the effects of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) on osteoblasts and osteoclasts in goldfish scales were investigated.
