[Anticoagulant therapy for chronic heart disease atrial failure and fibrillation: a review].

Atrial fibrillation (AF) and heart failure (HF) often accompany each other, as they share similar risk factors and pathophysiological mechanisms. AF in patients with HF is known to increase hospitalizations and worsen prognosis. A combination of AF and HF translates into high risks of thromboembolic complications, which renders anticoagulants an important aspect of therapy for these patients.

Despite the high prevalence of problematic alcohol consumption in Ukraine, however, there are little empirical data examining its association with risk behaviors also associated with HIV transmission in men who have sex with men (MSM), a key population where HIV incidence is increasing, METHOD: Correlates of prevalent HIV infection and their association between drinking severity levels and behaviors also associated with increased likelihood of HIV acquisition were analyzed from a 2017 nationally representative survey (IBBS) of 4938 MSM in Ukraine using bivariate analyses and multivariate regression.

The impact of the 2014 military conflict in the east of Ukraine and the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea among patients receiving opioid agonist therapies.

Background: Opioid agonist therapies (OAT) for people with opioid use disorders (OUD) have been available in Ukraine since 2004. This study assessed the effect of 2014 Russian invasion of Ukraine on OAT re-enrollment and retention in conflict areas.

Methods: We analyzed the Ukraine national registry of OAT patients containing 1868 people with OUD receiving OAT as of January 2014 in conflict areas (Donetsk, Luhansk, and the Autonomous Republic [AR] of the Crimea).

[Tactics of anticoagulant therapy in patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices and subclinical atrial fibrillation: A review].

Screening for atrial fibrillation (AF) has attracted considerable attention recently. Of special interest are patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) that allow for recording episodes of atrial arrhythmias of various durations, including asymptomatic ones, in which case they are referred to as subclinical atrial fibrillation (SCAF). The available data suggest that the risk of thromboembolic events varies between patients with SCAF and clinically overt AF.

Tolerability of an Individualized Physical Rehabilitation Program in Patients Dependent on Inotropic Support With End-Stage Chronic Heart Failure.

Aim      To assess the tolerability of an individualized physical rehabilitation program (PRP) in inotrope-dependent patients with end-stage chronic heart failure (CHF).Material and methods  This prospective randomized study included 120 men aged 18-65 years with left ventricular ejection fraction ≤30 % and blood pressure ≥90 / 60 mm Hg. Patients who have received dobutamine or dopamine for ≥2 weeks were randomized into two groups: group 1, 40 patients who participated in the PRP and group 2, 40 patients who did not participate in the PRP.
