A computer-aided detection (CAD) system for early esophagus carcinoma identification during endoscopy with narrow-band imaging (NBI) was evaluated in a large-scale, prospective, tandem, randomized controlled trial to assess its effectiveness. The study was registered at the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR2100050654, 2021/09/01). Involving 3400 patients were randomly assigned to either routine (routine-first) or CAD-assisted (CAD-first) NBI endoscopy, followed by the other procedure, with targeted biopsies taken at the end of the second examination.

Over the last two decades, advancements in deciphering the intricate interactions between oncology and immunity have fueled a meteoric rise in immunotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer, typified by an explosive growth of immune checkpoint inhibitors. However, resistance to immunotherapy remains inevitable. Herein we unravel the labyrinthine mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy, characterized by their involvement of nearly all types of cells within the body, beyond the extrinsic cancer cells, and importantly, such cells are not only (inhibitory or excitatory, or both) signal recipients but also producers, acting in a context-dependent manner.

The widespread environmental presence of nanoplastics (NPs) raises significant concerns about their health impacts, particularly on the gastrointestinal system, as NPs are primarily ingested. While previous studies have linked NP-induced intestinal toxicity to oxidative stress and reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation, the specific mechanisms of cell death remain unclear. Here, we showed that environmentally relevant concentrations of polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs) induced ferroptosis, a form of lipid peroxidation-driven cell death, in intestinal epithelial cells.

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are emerging photovoltaic devices renowned for their high efficiency and low cost. Efficient and stable PSCs depend on high-quality perovskite films, which are strongly influenced by the excellent nucleation and growth. The choice of solvent is critical for the crystallization behavior of perovskite films.
