[Dynamics and structure of primary disability in persons of retirement age when applying to the Bureau of Medical and Social Expertise of Saint Petersburg from 2006 to 2017.].

The article presents data on primary disability in elderly and able-bodied people and older than able-bodied (retirement) age as a result of the survey of citizens in the Bureau of Medical and Social Expertise of Saint Petersburg in the period 2006-2017. The features of the level, structure, dynamics and distribution by groups of disability in retirement age are reflected. There was a significant increase in the level of disability in 2007, with a progressive decline to 2011 and a gradual decline until 2017.

Effect of tripeptide Lys-Glu-Asp on physiological activity of neuroimmunoendocrine system cells.

Tripeptide Lys-Glu-Asp stimulates proliferation and inhibits apoptosis in organotypic cultures of neuroimmunoendocrine system cells. Lys-Glu-Asp accelerates cell renewal processes (decrease of apoptosis marker p53 and increase of proliferation marker Ki-67) in the pineal gland; this effect is more pronounced in cultures derived from old animals than in young cultures. The tripeptide induces the expression of low-differentiated lymphocyte marker CD5 and macrophage marker CD68, but in "old" cultures this effect is less pronounced than in "young" ones.

Tetrapeptide H-Ala-Glu-Asp-Arg-OH stimulates expression of cytoskeletal and nuclear matrix proteins.

Tetrapeptide H-Ala-Glu-Asp-Arg-OH enhances the expression of cytoskeletal (actin, tubulin, vimentin) and nuclear matrix proteins (lamin A, lamin C) in cultured mouse embryonic fibroblasts by 2-5 and 2-3 times, respectively. Thus, the previously reported cardioprotective activity of this tetrapeptide is determined by its capacity to activate synthesis of cytoskeletal and nuclear matrix proteins, which stimulates cell proliferation and reduces apoptosis.

HLA antigens in borderline and essential hypertension.

The subject of investigation was the comparison of HLA antigen distribution in people with borderline hypertension (BH) and essential hypertension (EH). One hundred twenty-one men with BH and 60 men with EH were studied. The HLA frequency was compared with that in 858 healthy men, who were blood donors.
