A hybridoma panel producing monoclonal antibodies to immunochemically non-identical antigenic epitopes of the protein nature located in outer membrane of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis was obtained. It was revealed that the previously identified B-antigen protecting laboratory animals from experimental plague was detected using both monoclonal antibodies against mentioned protein determinants and the determinants of lipopolysaccharide O-side chains. The B-antigen is a component of the Y.

For the assay to reliability of determination of the protein content in the pectic polysaccharide samples by absorbance in the ultraviolet and visible regions of the spectrum a comparison of the eleven techniques called Flores, Lovry, Bradford, Sedmak, Rueman (ninhydrin reaction) methods, the method of ultraviolet spectrophotometry, the method Benedict's reagent, the method Nessler's reagent, the method with amide black, the bicinchoninic reagent and the biuret method was carried out. The data obtained show that insufficient sensitivity of the seven methods from the listed techniques doesn't allow their usage for determination of protein content in pectic polysaccharide samples. But the Lowry, Bradford, Sedmak methods, and the method Nessler's reagent may be used for determination of protein content in pectic polysaccharide samples, and the Bradford method is advisable for protein contaminants content determination in pectic polysaccharide samples in case protein content is less than 15%, and the Lowry method--for samples is more than 15%.

Structural peculiarities of low molecular weight (LMW) sample obtained by mild acid hydrolysis of κ-carrageenan from Chondrus armatus was investigated by a rapid mass spectrometric method. The selected conditions allowed avoiding excess destruction of 3,6-AnGal residues that was shown by using tandem (MS/MS) mode. Main oligosaccharide fraction with molecular weight 2.

The aim of this research is to investigate the swelling properties and morphology of the calcium pectinate gel (CaPG) beads made from pectins of campion callus cultured using various medium nutrients (carbon sources, concentration of sucrose, calcium and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D)). Gelled spheres were prepared by ionotropic gelation. The mean diameter, total surface area and volume of the dried beads varied depending on the plant cell culture conditions.

The composition of diet is one of the major determining factors for lifespan. The dietary pectins are known to have anti-inflammatory properties and may influence aging and longevity. Here we demonstrate the lifespan-extending effect of the low methyl esterified (LM) commercial pectins CU701 and AU701 in wild-type strain of Drosophila melanogaster.
