Globally, various policies are being implemented to phase out plastic, and South Korea has set targets to reduce waste and increase recycling rates by 2030. Concerns about managing microplastic pollution are growing. Most advanced research has primarily focused on aquatic ecosystems.

However, membrane fouling, particularly by organic matter, remains a significant operational challenge, necessitating regular chemical cleaning to maintain performance. The present study was undertaken to investigate the cleaning efficiency of sodium dichloroisocyanurate (NaDCC) tablets, a novel solid-state alternative to conventional liquid cleaning agents such as sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), acetic acid, and citric acid.

This study investigates the removal of total organic carbon (TOC) from paper mill wastewater using air dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma, combined with various persulfate sources, namely potassium peroxymonosulfate (PMS), potassium peroxydisulfate (PDS), and sodium persulfate (SPS). Mechanistic insights into the activation of plasma-PDS and -PMS were obtained through quenching experiments and electron spin resonance (ESR) techniques. The addition of persulfate to air DBD plasma increased TOC removal kinetics by approximately 1.

Methods: This study included 70 patients who underwent operative fixation of rotatory ankle fractures. Group A received naproxen 500 mg only, and Group B received naproxen 500 mg with pregabalin 75 mg 2-hour before surgery and 12 hourly for 14 days thereafter.
