Interstitial Cystitis (IC) or Painful Bladder Syndrome (PBS) is a heterogeneous disease which pathogenetic mode development is not fully studied. In the presented literature review IC/PBS is considered as urothelial dysfunction. The main issues discussed relate to IC/PBS diagnosis and minimally invasive methods of its treatment including intravesical instillations of therapeutic agents, botulinum toxin injections into bladder wall and hydrodistension.
