Breastfeeding and child survival from 0 to 5 years in Côte d'Ivoire.

Background: One of the main objectives of health policy-makers is to promote children's growth, development, and survival. The current research evaluates the impact of breastfeeding on infant survival and highlights the major socio-economic determinants of child survival from 0 to 5 years old in Côte d'Ivoire.

Methods: This study uses Probit estimation to evaluate the impact of the type of breastfeeding on the survival of children aged from 0 to 5 years old.

[Viper bite at the external genitalia in a child].

We report on a case of severe envenomation due to viper bites at the external genitalia in an 8-year-old child. The grade III poisoning involved hemostatic disorders and severe swelling. The patient consulted in a timely manner and recovered rapidly after antivenom FAV Africa(®) administration.

The title compound, C(16)H(17)N(3)O(4), was prepared by the reaction of 5-nitro-2-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)benzaldehyde and ethyl cyano-acetate. The mol-ecular structure adopts an E conformation with respect to the C=C double bond. The five-membered ring has a half-chair conformation, with puckering parameters Q(2)= 0.
