Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is an extremely rare disorder in children. We report a nine-month-old girl with PG who presented with high-grade fever and rapidly progressive ulcers at the site of a Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) inoculation 2 months after the immunization. Additional small pustules developed on her hand and posterior neck three months after the immunization and rapidly progressed.

Avoiding undesired intramolecular reactions during desired intermolecular reactions is an important challenge in synthetic organic chemistry. We successfully avoided undesired intramolecular diketopiperazine formation during desired N-alkylation in the synthesis of peptoids using a microflow reactor. Fifteen peptoids were synthesized in good to high yields, and a cyclic peptoid was synthesized on the gram scale using the developed microflow approach.

Although a significant improvement in progression-free survival (PFS) has been reported in the thyroid transcription factor 1 (TTF-1) positive patients under treatment for non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NS-NSCLC), including immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy, the association between TTF-1 expression and adverse event occurrence remains unclear. Therefore, this study investigated the impact of TTF-1 and its adverse events on PFS during pembrolizumab plus pemetrexed and platinum chemotherapy for NS-NSCLC. Patients who received the pembrolizumab plus pemetrexed and platinum chemotherapy from 1/1/2018 to 12/31/2022 and whose TTF-1 expression was measured were included in the study.
