Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) has attracted attention due to sports-related head trauma or repetitive mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). However, the pathology of CTE remains underexplored. Reproducible and quantitative model of CTE has yet to be established.

We conducted a questionnaire survey of case-reporting facilities in Japan to elucidate their clinical characteristics.
Methods: We searched the PubMed and Ichushi databases for case reports published from January 1, 2012, to December 31, 2017, using "diabetes" and "chorea" as keywords, and sent a questionnaire to the reporting institutions.
Plasma, which was coined by Irving Langmuir in 1928, is the fourth physical state after the solid/liquid/gas phases. Low-temperature plasma (LTP) is a contradictory condition that involves high energy with free radicals at near-body temperatures and was developed through engineering in the 1990's. Research on LTP in engineering and medical fields has rapidly developed since the 2000's.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFGiant viruses are crucial for marine ecosystem dynamics because they regulate microeukaryotic community structure, accelerate carbon and nutrient cycles, and drive the evolution of their hosts through co-evolutionary processes. Previously reported long-term observations revealed that these viruses display seasonal fluctuations in abundance. However, the underlying genetic mechanisms driving such dynamics of these viruses remain largely unknown.
