Phosphatidylinositol is a precursor of various phosphoinositides, which play crucial roles in intracellular signaling and membrane dynamics and have impact on diverse aspects of cell physiology. Phosphoinositide synthesis and turnover occur in the cytoplasmic leaflet of the organellar and plasma membranes. P4-ATPases (lipid flippases) are responsible for translocating membrane lipids from the exoplasmic (luminal) to the cytoplasmic leaflet, thereby regulating membrane asymmetry.

[I]β-methyl-p-iodophenyl-pentadecanoic acid ([I]BMIPP), which is used for nuclear medicine imaging of myocardial fatty acid metabolism, accumulates in cancer cells. However, the mechanism of accumulation remains unknown. Therefore, this study aimed to elucidate the accumulation and accumulation mechanism of [I]BMIPP in cancer cells.

As drug-metabolizing enzyme activities are affected by a variety of factors, such as drug-drug interactions, a method to evaluate drug-metabolizing enzyme activities in real time is needed. In this study, we developed a novel SPECT imaging probe for evaluation of hepatic CYP2D activity. Iodine-123- and 125-labeled 4-iodobenzylmequitazine (I-BMQ) was synthesized with high labeling and purity.

infection is an infectious disease that must be controlled because it becomes chronic and difficult to treat, owing to its unique system of toxin production/injection and elimination of other bacteria. Here, we noninvasively monitored using single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging. Determining the amount and localization of the will enable making faster clinical diagnoses and selecting the most appropriate therapeutic agents and methods.

Purpose: When performing single-point dose verification in VMAT, it is necessary to avoid the regions with steep dose gradient. We propose a method to obtain the estimated value ( U) of uncertainty of the absolute dose measurement due to the phantom setup error by using dose gradient calculated from treatment planning system (TPS), for evaluating the appropriate measurement points.

Methods: The dose gradient was calculated from the planned dose values in the vicinity of the isocenter point using TPS.
