Background: Although the United States (US) Hispanic population consists of diverse communities, prior breast cancer studies often analyze this group in aggregate. Our aim was to identify differences in breast cancer stage at presentation in the US population, with a particular focus on Hispanic subgroups.

Methods: Data from the National Cancer Database (NCDB) from 2004 to 2017 were used to select women with primary breast cancer; individuals were disaggregated by racial and ethnic subgroup and Hispanic country of origin.

The electrical behavior of photovoltaic materials related with CuZnTiSand CuZnSnSmaterials were analyzed as function of synthesis temperature in accordance with a new mathematical model based on the Kramers-Kronig equations with a high reliability. The samples were obtained through a hydrothermal route and a subsequent thermal treatment of solids at 550 °C for 1 h under nitrogen flow (50 ml min). The characterization was done by x-ray diffraction, ultraviolet spectroscopy (UV), Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and solid state impedance spectroscopy (IS) techniques.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examines the racial representation in clinical trials that form the basis of the USPSTF guidelines for lung, breast, and colorectal cancer screening.
  • Many randomized controlled trials (RCTs) either do not report race or consist of predominantly white populations, raising concerns about the guidelines' applicability to non-white individuals.
  • The research indicates that the lack of race-specific recommendations can lead to underdiagnosis and worse health outcomes for non-white individuals, highlighting the need for improved diversity in medical research and policy changes to enhance minority representation in healthcare.
