Introduction: Penile fracture is typically defined as the rupture of the corpus cavernosum.
Case Presentation: A 61-year-old man presented with swelling, pain, and bruising of his penis, along with gross hematuria. He reported that he sustained this injury while having sex with his wife.
Background: Percutaneous cryoablation is widely used for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma. We prospectively evaluated the oncologic outcomes and safety of percutaneous cryoablation for the treatment of tumors ≤ 4 cm in diameter.
Methods: We included patients aged ≥ 20 years, who had histologically proven renal cell carcinoma, tumor diameter ≤ 4 cm, a performance status of ≤ 1, acceptable laboratory parameters, were inoperable or refused to undergo surgery, and had signed a written informed consent.

The purpose of this study was to reveal the optimal function for regression of spectral Hounsfield Unit (HU) curves. The optimization procedure consists of the following steps: 1) obtaining dual energy CT (DECT) images of the RMI 467 phantom, 2) obtaining virtual monochromatic images from DECT images, 3) mapping each region of interest (ROI) to a phantom rod on virtual monochromatic images, 4) obtaining spectral HU curves for all rods, 5) regression of spectral HU curves using various functions, including linear, quadratic polynomial, cubic polynomial, quartic polynomial, quintic polynomial, sextic polynomial, septic polynomial, exponential, corrected exponential, bi-exponential, and logarithm, and 6) calculating the coefficients and the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) of the functions listed above. Results indicated that the quintic polynomial function is suitable for analyzing the regression of spectral HU curves.

A 67-year-old Japanese man with hepatitis C virus-related liver cirrhosis was diagnosed with multiple HCC in S7 and S8 of the liver. We performed a hepatic resection of S7 and S8.

Method: The subjects were 158 gastric cancer patients who were admitted for surgery in a public hospital in Tokyo between 1995 and 1997. The new cost accounting method that we developed according to the activity-based costing method was applied in the following four levels; major items of expenditure for the hospital; costs incurred in each department; costs per medical service units; and costs of all the services per case.
