Gastric cancer (GC), one of the most common and heterogeneous malignancies, is the second leading cause of cancer death worldwide and is closely related to dietary habits. Fatty acid is one of the main nutrients of human beings, which is closely related to diabetes, hypertension and other diseases. However, the correlation between fatty acid metabolism and the development and progression of GC remains largely unknown.

Development and validation of a nomogram for predicting postoperative fever after endoscopic submucosal dissection for colorectal lesions.

Fever is a complication after colorectal endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). The objective of this study was to explore the incidence and risk factors of fever after colorectal ESD and establish a predictive nomogram model. This retrospective analysis encompassed patients with colorectal lesions who underwent ESD between June 2008 and December 2021 in our center.

A foundation model with weak experiential guidance in detecting muscle invasive bladder cancer on MRI.

Preoperative detection of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) remains a great challenge in practice. We aimed to develop and validate a deep Vesical Imaging Network (ViNet) model for the detection of MIBC using high-resolution Tweighted MR imaging (hrTWI) in a multicenter cohort. ViNet was designed using a modified 3D ResNet, in which, the encoder layers were pretrained using a self-supervised foundation model on over 40,000 cross-modal imaging datasets for transfer learning, and the classification modules were weakly supervised by an experiential knowledge-domain mask indicated by a nnUNet segmentation model.

Identification of a pathogenic SDHD mutation in a Chinese family with hereditary head and neck paraganglioma: implications for genetic counseling and management.

Background: This study aims to identify a pathogenic SDHD mutation associated with hereditary head and neck paraganglioma (HNPGL) in a Chinese family and to explore its implications for genetic counseling.

Methods: The study involved a family with 15 members spanning three generations. A 31-year-old patient (II-4) was diagnosed with a left parotid gland tumor and a right carotid body tumor, while both the father and elder sister had right carotid body tumors, and the third sister had bilateral carotid body tumors.
