The role of heparin in sepsis therapy has been widely debated. The controversy surrounding heparin's use as an anticoagulant in sepsis may stem from differences in sepsis definitions, study designs, timing and dosage of drug administration, treatment duration, complications, and patient severity. In this study, we aimed to determine the optimal timing and dosage of heparin in patients with sepsis, identify specific subgroups that could benefit from heparin therapy, and explore laboratory markers to assess its efficacy.

Comparison of the effectiveness of nurse-led preoperative counseling and postoperative follow-up care vs standard care for patients with gastric cancer.

Background: Radical gastrectomy is generally prefered for gastric cancer but has postoperative complications. The objectives of the study are to evaluate the effectiveness of three different models of preoperative counseling and postoperative follow-up care in patients who underwent radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer.

Methods: In retrospective medical record analyses, patients received nurse-led preoperative counseling and postoperative follow-up care (NC cohort, = 105) or surgeon-led preoperative counseling and surgeon-led follow-up (SC cohort, = 140), or did not receive counseling and aftercare (RC cohort, = 160).

Background: Traumatic injuries, such as falling, car accidents, and crushing mostly cause spinal fractures in young and middle-aged people, and > 50% of them are thoracolumbar fractures. This kind of fracture is easily combined with serious injuries to peripheral nerves and soft tissues, which causes paralysis of the lower limbs if there is no timely rehabilitation treatment. Young patients with thoracolumbar fractures find it difficult to recover after the operation, and they are prone to depression, low self-esteem, and other negative emotions.

Development and experimental validation of dephosphorylation-related biomarkers to assess prognosis and immunotherapeutic response in gliomas.

Background: Gliomas are common aggressive brain tumors with poor prognosis. Dephosphorylation-related biomarkers are in a void in gliomas. This study aims to construct a validated prognostic risk model for dephosphorylation, which will provide new directions for clinical treatment, prognostic assessment, and temozolomide (TMZ) resistance in glioma patients.
