Non-contrast CT attenuation value of renal papilla is a novel predictor of recurrence in kidney stone disease.

In calcium stone formers, most stones grow attached to Randall's plaque, which can be identified by measuring the computed tomography (CT) attenuation value of renal papilla. We hypothesized that the CT attenuation value of renal papilla can predict the severity (recurrent or multiple stone former) and recurrence of the stone disease. We retrospectively reviewed the charts of 180 calcium oxalate stone formers who underwent non-contrast CT and 24-hour urine chemistry in our hospital between September 2012 and November 2021.

Comparison of Prognosis and Health-Related Quality of Life Between Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy Versus High-Dose-Rate Brachytherapy Combined With External Beam Radiation Therapy and Hormone Therapy for High-Risk Prostate Cancer.

Background: We compare the oncological outcomes and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in men with high-risk prostate cancer after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) versus that after high-dose-rate brachytherapy + external beam radiotherapy + hormone therapy (hereafter: "HDR+").

Methods: We included 233 men who underwent RARP and 179 men who underwent HDR+ for high-risk prostate cancer at our hospital. We investigated the following oncologic outcomes: time to biochemical recurrence, time to development of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), cancer-specific survival, and overall survival.

Safety and Efficacy of Durvalumab After Chemoradiotherapy in Antinuclear Antibody-positive Patients With Non-small Cell Lung Cancer.

Background/aim: Pneumonitis during durvalumab consolidation therapy after chemoradiotherapy (CRT) is a major cause of treatment discontinuation. Although previous studies have revealed an association between antinuclear antibody (ANA) positivity and the safety and efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), there are no reports on durvalumab consolidation therapy. This study investigated the safety and efficacy of durvalumab after CRT in ANA-positive patients.

A Case of Fish Sausage Anaphylaxis Induced by Epicutaneous Sensitization to Carmine Contained in Eyeshadows: The Effect of Chelation on Carmine Allergy.

Carmine is an aluminium and/or calcium-chelated complex form of carminic acid (CA), which is derived from the extract (cochineal), and is globally used as a red-colourant in foods and cosmetics. Although several allergens in carmine allergies, such as CC38K, have been reported, it remains unknown whether chelation affects the allergenicity of carmine. We report a case of Japanese fish sausage () anaphylaxis induced by epicutaneous sensitization to carmine contained in eyeshadows.

Impact of postoperative sexual function on health-related quality of life after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy.

Background: We investigated potential disparities in health-related quality of life, particularly concerning urinary function, between patients with preserved and those with impaired sexual function after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP).

Materials And Methods: Between December 2012 and April 2020, 704 men underwent RARP in our hospital. This study included 155 patients with a preoperative 5-item International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) of ≥12 points and an assessable IIEF-5 at 12 months postoperatively.
