Purpose: It has been demonstrated that the coronary artery anomalies (CAAs) are generally asymptomatic. However, some cases can cause severe life threatening events. As coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) has emerged as a non-invasive alternative to invasive coronary angiography for the evaluation of coronary anatomy, the prevalence of CAAs in CCTA may more closely reflect the true prevalence in the general population.

Article Synopsis
  • A study conducted between 1998 and 2020 identified 43 new species in diverse ecosystems across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, using genetic analysis to classify them into existing and new subclades within a major clade.
  • The evolutionary history of this clade includes separations before and after the breakup of Gondwana, leading to distinct groups with varying lifestyles, such as soilborne and aerial species.
  • High levels of hybridization were observed in some subclades, indicating that environmental and breeding systems may encourage the emergence of new species, revealing significant gaps in our understanding of potential pathogen threats to ecosystems.

Purpose: Superb microvascular imaging (SMI) and Shear wave elastography (SWE) are newly developed ultrasonographic diagnostic tools used to support the diagnosis of De Quervain tenosynovitis (DQT). The aim of this study was to examine the capacity to differentiate between the wrist with DQT and the healthy wrist, as well as the potential for predicting the disease's severity using B-mode ultrasonography, SWE, and SMI.

Methods: A total of 19 cases with unilateral clinical DQT were included in the prospective study.

During a survey of diversity in Panama, fast-growing oomycete isolates were obtained from naturally fallen leaves of an unidentified tree species in a tropical cloud forest. Phylogenetic analyses of sequences from the nuclear ITS, LSU and loci and the mitochondrial and genes revealed that they belong to a new species of a new genus, officially described here as gen. nov.
