Objective: To analyze the effect of CytoSorb® on mortality, interleukin levels, vasopressor use and adverse events in patients with sepsis.

Methods: We searched MEDLINE®, Embase and the Cochrane Library for randomized controlled trials and cohort studies that reported the use of CytoSorb® among septic patients. The primary outcome was mortality, and secondary outcomes included the use of vasopressors, levels of inflammatory markers, predicted versus observed mortality, length of stay in the intensive care unit, and adverse events.

Background: Breast cancer is among the leading cause of cancer-related mortality among Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) women, but a comprehensive and updated analysis of mortality trends is lacking. The objective of this study was to determine the breast cancer mortality rates between 1997 and 2017 for LAC countries and predict mortality until 2030.

Methods: We retrieved breast cancer deaths across 17 LAC countries from the World Health Organization mortality database.

Background: The Renal Health Program (RHP) was implemented in 2013 as a secondary prevention strategy to reduce the incidence of patients initiating dialysis and overall mortality. A previous study found that adherent patients have 58% protection against progression to dialysis compared to non-adherent. The main objective of the study was to estimate the lifetime economic and health consequences of the RHP intervention to determine its cost-effectiveness in comparison with usual care.
