Steviol glycosides (SGs) are highly valued for their sweetness, safety, and zero calories, but their bitter taste and low solubility limit their application. Modifying glycosyl units is a promising strategy to improve sensory qualities. In this study, we identified the enzyme UGT94E13 through phylogenetic analysis and enzyme screening, which catalyzes the glycosylation of rebaudioside M2 (Reb M2) at the C-13 position, producing the novel β-1,6--glycosylated product rebaudioside M9 (Reb M9).

Background: Multimorbidity has emerged as a significant challenge for healthcare systems globally. This study aims to examine the associations between key determinants of lifestyle behavior and various multimorbidity patterns.

Methods: In a cross-sectional sample of older adults (aged 60-79) from the Fifth National Physical Fitness Surveillance in Shanghai, latent class analysis (LCA) was used to identify multimorbidity patterns among 9 chronic diseases.

In order to examine the effects of the fused heterole on the electronic properties of aromatic and antiaromatic smaragdyrins, 2,3-thiophene- and 2,3-indole-fused [20]smaragdyrins were synthesized by Suzuki-Miyaura coupling and subsequent oxidative fusion reaction, and were reduced with NaBH4 to the corresponding [22]smaragdyrins. Fused-thiophene- and fused-pyrrole-bridged [20]- and [22]smaragdyrin dimers were also synthesized in the similar manner. The installed fused heteroles mitigate the paratropic ring current of the [20]smaragdyrin but exert only minor effects on the diatropic ring current of the [22]smaragdyrin.

The treatment of oily wastewater and oil/water mixtures has received more and more attention. In this study, a Zn-MOF (ZIF-8) decorated polyimide (PI) nanofiber membrane with triple self-cleaning performance was constructed, and the decoration of ZIF-8 on the PI membrane improved the hydrophilicity of the composite membrane, which further enhanced the underwater oil resistance, and the mechanical properties of the membranes improved significantly with the increase of in situ growth time. In addition, the inherent photocatalytic and antibacterial properties of ZIF-8 endowed the membranes with fantastic performance.
