Introduction: Early Brain Injury (EBI) significantly contributes to poor neurological outcomes and death following subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). The mechanisms underlying EBI post-SAH remain unclear. This study explores the relationship between serial cerebral blood flow (CBF) changes and neurological symptoms, as well as the mechanisms driving CBF changes in the ultra-early stages after experimental SAH in mice.

Cerebrovascular stenosis related to tyrosine kinase inhibitor for chronic myeloid leukemia: two illustrative cases.

Background: Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) improve prognosis in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Nilotinib and ponatinib, second- and third-generation TKIs, respectively, have been reported to cause adverse vascular occlusive events such as myocardial infarction and peripheral arterial disease. However, little is known about the risk of cerebral infarction associated with severe cerebrovascular stenosis, which is a late complication of TKIs.

Formation of Poly-L-Lysine-Porphyrin Derivative Complex Exhibiting Diminished Dark Toxicity in Aqueous Solutions and High Photodynamic Activity.

Poly-L-lysine (PLL) displays a high solubilizing ability for hydrophobic guest molecules, and when in complexes with guest molecules, it exhibits a high intracellular uptake. However, its high cytotoxicity, originating from its cationic character, significantly limits its applications in biological and medicinal chemistry. In this study, the amount of free PLL in an aqueous solution of a PLL-porphyrin complex was immensely reduced, resulting in considerably lower dark toxicity than that of the free PLL.

How I do it: Surgical interruption of high-flow dural arteriovenous fistulas at the foramen magnum region.

Background: Dural arteriovenous fistulas (dAVFs) in the foramen magnum region (FMR) are rare entity of dAVFs. There is no established treatment for FMR-dAVFs owing to their rarity and anatomical complexity. Herein, we report cases of high-flow dAVFs located at the posteromedial part of the FMR that were successfully treated by surgical interruption.
