To enhance their longevity, dental implants must be highly biocompatible and must have a low elastic modulus close to that of the bone. They must also possess a high superficial hardness and a high corrosion resistance. Statement Of Problem: No data are available on the ability of an impression coping to resist the manual placement of an abutment replica (implant analog) during prosthodontic laboratory procedures after a direct (pick-up) impression.

Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the torque resistance of impression copings after a direct impression, that is, the amount of rotational torque sufficient to induce irreversible displacement of impression copings in the impression material bulk once the impression has been made.

This study reports the in vitro biocompatibility of a composite biomaterial composed of 46S6 bioactive glass in association with chitosan (CH) by using 3D osteoblast culture of SaOS2. The 46S6 and CH composite (46S6-CH) forms small hydroxyapatite crystals on its surface after only three days immersion in the simulated body fluid. For 2D osteoblast culture, a significant increase in cell proliferation was observed after three days of contact with 46S6 or 46S6-CH-immersed media.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of five antiseptics, three surface disinfectants and UV radiation against a wide range of clinical and environmental yeast isolates. Their efficacy against pure cultures, yeast mixtures and biofilms (prepared by culturing yeasts in Sabouraud broth containing a final concentration of 8% glucose) was tested. Three clinical isolates of Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans and Rhodotorula rubra, and two environmental isolates of Candida albicans and Cryptococcus uniguttulatus were selected.
