Objective: The limited predictive effect of genotype on familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) phenotype suggests that epigenetic factors and alternative mechanisms that may cause IL-1β release could contribute to phenotypic heterogeneity. The objective of this study was to examine the role of IL-1β levels and miR-21-5p, cathepsin B and pyrin levels, which were identified as potential factors causing IL-1β release through the use of bioinformatics tools, in the pathogenesis of FMF and their relationship with disease severity.

One-component epoxy resins (OCERs) with improved stability (shelf life) and controlled curing temperatures were prepared using epoxy resins and polyoxazoline-imidazole (POZ-Im) based thermal latent curing agents (TLCs). POZ homopolymers with molar masses of 1000, 2000, and 5000 g/mol were obtained via cationic ring-opening polymerization (CROP) of 2-ethyl-2-oxazoline, 2-propyl-2-oxazoline, 2-pentyl-2-oxazoline, and 2-phenyl-2-oxazoline. TLCs were prepared by physically entrapping imidazole, the curing agent, in the POZ matrix at the homopolymer/Im (HP/Im) ratios of 1:1 and 5:1 and characterized by FTIR and TGA.

Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) is the most common monogenic autoinflammatory disease worldwide. In this retrospective cohort study, we aimed to assess the effects of various MEFV genotypes on the clinical characteristics of the patients, with a special focus on the joint involvement. In total, 782 patients with FMF were categorized into 3 groups according to the MEFV mutation; Group 1: Patients homozygous for M694V; Group 2: Patients carrying other pathogenic MEFV variants in exon 10 in homozygous or compound heterozygous states; and Group 3: FMF patients with other variants or without mutations.
