Rv2477c is an ATP-binding cassette (ABC) protein in Mycobacterium tuberculosis that doesn't have transmembrane domains and is involved in various cellular processes.
It shows strong ATPase activity, especially when manganese is present, and can also hydrolyze GTP, TTP, and CTP, but less efficiently.
Mutations in key amino acids significantly reduce its ATPase activity, and antibiotics like tetracycline and erythromycin can inhibit this activity, suggesting Rv2477c may play a role in protein translation and antibiotic resistance.
