A randomized placebo-controlled double-blind study of dexmedetomidine on postoperative sleep quality in patients with endoscopic sinus surgery.

Background: Postoperative sleep disorder is common and may cause aggravated postoperative pain, delirium, and poor prognosis. We accessed the effect of intraoperative intravenous dexmedetomidine on postoperative sleep quality in patients with endoscopic sinus surgery.  METHODS: This single-center, double-blind, placebo-controlled randomized clinical trial enrolled a total of 110 participants aged 18 years to 65 years who were scheduled to receive endoscopic sinus surgery.

[Clinical analysis of the vascular pulsatile tinnitus associated with sigmoid sinus-mastoid].

To probe the clinical characteristics of diagnosis and therapy of vascular pulsatile tinnitus（PT） associated with sigmoid sinus-mastoid. Retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of the hospitalized 45 PT patients of an ear surgeon in one hospital between January 2013 to January 2020, and observed the effectiveness with surgery and non-surgery therapy. Surgical procedures include reconstruction the bone wall of sigmoid sinus by transmastoid approach and ligation of mastoid emissary vein.

Effects of D-methionine in mice with noise-induced hearing loss mice.

Objective: To study the effects of D-methionine in a mouse model of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL).

Methods: We investigated changes in auditory function and microscopic cochlear structure in a mouse model of NIHL, and carried out 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE) immunostaining and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick-end labeling, and examined expression levels of connexins 26 and 30 by western blot.

Results: The auditory brainstem response threshold was significantly increased by noise exposure.

[The anatomic study of tragal cartilage and its clinical application in ear surgery].

Objective: Dissecting adult cadaver's tragal cartilage and researching its clinical application in ear surgery.

Method: Dissect the bilateral tragal cartilage of 22 adult cadavers immersed in formalin (both of male and female are 11). Measure and compute the average value of the length, width, thickness and area.

[The lateral attic wall reconstruction with tragal cartilage and temporalis fascia graft].

Objective: To investigate the reconstruction method of lateral attic wall with tragal cartilage and temporalis fascia graft. And analyze the postoperative result of its clinical application.

Method: From Jan 2005 to Jul 2014, 45 patients whose middle ear disease were limited to attic received this surgery in our department.

[Canal wall reconstruction with tragus cartilage and tempralis fascia graft].

Objective: This paper highlights the therapeutic effect of tragus cartilage and temporalis fascia graft on repairing bone and skin defect in external auditory canal.

Method: Forty-one surgical patients were recuited, including 39 cases of external auditory canal cholesteatoma and 2 cases of osteoma. External auditory canal bone wall and skin defect and mastoid air cells exposure were found during operation.

Hedyotis Diffusa Willd extract induces apoptosis via activation of the mitochondrion-dependent pathway in human colon carcinoma cells.

Hedyotis Diffusa Willd has been used as a major component in several Chinese medicine formulations for the clinical treatment of colorectal cancer. However, the molecular mechanism of the anti-cancer activity of Hedyotis Diffusa Willd remains unclear. In the present study, we investigated the cellular effects of the ethanol extract of Hedyotis Diffusa Willd (EEHDW) in the HT-29 human colon carcinoma cell line.
