Methods: We performed a multicenter, open-label, randomized trial in China, involving patients with symptomatic nonacute subdural hematoma with mass effect. Patients were assigned to undergo burr-hole drainage or receive nonsurgical treatment at the surgeon's discretion, and patients in each group were then randomly assigned, in a 1:1 ratio, to undergo middle meningeal artery embolization with liquid embolic material or to receive usual care.

Methods: A total of 60 male Spraque-Dawley (SD) rats were divided into two groups and MCAO was induced using spindle-shaped head suture or round head suture. The mortality, infarct volume, neurological function, success rate of the surgery, and stability of modeling were examined to evaluate the effectiveness of this model.

Vascular compression on zone 4 (the cisternal portion) of the nerve is quite common, but only a very small percentage of such compression will elicit hemifacial spasm, because zone 4 is less susceptible than zone 3 (the root exit zone). Objective: Despite the microvascular decompression (MVD) has become a definitive treatment for trigeminal neuralgia (TN) and hemifacial spasm (HFS), not all of the patients have been cured completely so far and this sort of operation is still with risk because of the critical operative area. In order to refine this surgery, we investigated thousands MVDs.
Methods: Among 3000 consecutive cases of MVDs have been performed in our department, 2601 were those with typical TN or HFS, who were then enrolled in this investigation.
Objective: To present the authors' experience in surgical treatment of patients with trigeminal neuralgia (TN) with intraneural vessels.
Methods: The study included three patients with TN and an intraneural artery (superior cerebellar artery) and eight patients with TN and an intraneural vein. The patients underwent microvascular decompression (MVD) procedures.
