The choroid plexus (ChP) serves as the principal origin of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). CSF hypersecretion due to ChP inflammation has emerged as an important pathogenesis of hydrocephalus recently. Nevertheless, the precise mechanisms of ChP inflammation and the ensuing CSF hypersecretion in hydrocephalus remain ill-defined.

However, its efficacy for thalamic hemorrhage accompanied by intraventricular hematoma (THAVH) remains unclear. The aim of this study is to determine the efficacy of NES in treating THAVH.

However, few studies have examined the gene expression regulatory network (GRN) in IDH-mutant and wild-type gliomas. In this study, single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptome sequencing were used to analyze the GRN of cell subsets in patients with IDH-mutant and wild-type gliomas.

Moreover, epidemiological studies have not accurately identified patients with glioma-related epilepsy (GRE), and there is an urgent need to identify the molecular mechanisms and markers of its occurrence. We analyzed the demographics, transcriptome, whole-genome, and methylation sequences of 997 patients with glioma, to determine the genetic differences between glioma and GRE patients and to determine the upregulated molecular function, cellular composition, biological processes involved, signaling pathways, and immune cell infiltration.

Former studies have reported that exosomes derived from M1-polarized macrophages (M1 exosomes) inhibit tumor occurrence and development through delivery of tumor suppressor genes. Also, microRNA-142-3p (miR-142-3p) has been verified to function as a tumor suppressor.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFGlioblastoma (GBM) displays an infiltrative growth characteristic that recruits neighboring normal cells to facilitate tumor growth, maintenance, and invasion into the brain. While the blood-brain barrier serves as a critical natural defense mechanism for the central nervous system, GBM disrupts this barrier, resulting in the infiltration of macrophages from the peripheral bone marrow and the activation of resident microglia. Recent advancements in single-cell transcriptomics and spatial transcriptomics have refined the categorization of cells within the tumor microenvironment for precise identification.

Method: This study retrospectively analyzed hospitalization data from 139 adult patients with moderate-volume cerebral hemorrhage in the thalamo-endocapsular region.
Capillary hemangiomas, usually found in skin and mucosal tissues, are rarely encountered within the spinal cord, presenting a significant diagnostic challenge. We report a rare case of intradural extramedullary capillary hemangioma at the conus medullaris in a 66-year-old female patient. Our initial diagnosis leaned towards a cystic hemangioblastoma based on MRI findings due to the presence of cystic formation with an enhanced mural nodule.

Consequently, the acquisition of credible evidence is imperative to authenticate the effectiveness of these methodologies.
Methods: One hundred and three eligible patients with moderate-volume thalamus-internal capsule region cerebral hemorrhage.
Hydrocephalus is one of the most common brain disorders and a life-long incurable condition. An empirical "one-size-fits-all" approach of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) shunting remains the mainstay of hydrocephalus treatment and effective pharmacotherapy options are currently lacking. Macrophage-mediated ChP inflammation and CSF hypersecretion have recently been identified as a significant discovery in the pathogenesis of hydrocephalus.

Genomic studies have identified gene mutations and gene expression disorders related to the development of gliomas, which affect cell metabolic pathways.

Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study. Baseline data and in-hospital prognosis from patients with non-traumatic cerebral hemorrhage admitted to the intensive care unit.
Introduction: Blood blister-like aneurysm (BBA) is a special type of intracranial aneurysm with relatively low morbidity and high mortality. Various microsurgical techniques and endovascular approaches have been reported, but the optimal management remains controversial. For a better understanding of the treatment of BBA patients, a network meta-analysis that comprehensively compares the effects of different therapies is necessary.

Herein, a hybrid cross-linked hierarchical microporous hydrogel scaffold (PHCLS) was successfully assembled by a multistep procedure, which involved (i) the preparation of poly(lactic--glycolic)/nanohydroxyapatite (PLGA-HAP) porous microspheres, (ii) embedding the spheres in a solution of dopamine-modified hyaluronic acid and collagen I (Col I) and cross-linking via dopamine polyphenols binding to (i) Col I amino groups (via Michael addition) and (ii) PLGA-HAP (via calcium ion chelation). The introduction of PLGA-HAP not only improved the diversity of pore size and pore communication inside the matrix but also greatly enhanced the compressive strength (5.

Surgery is the mainstay of treatment for CSDH. Some studies have suggested that some specific surgical strategies can have potential benefits for patients with CSDH; however, the best surgical method is still controversial.

However, dECM conduits with mechanical properties that match those of peripheral nerves are yet to be well developed. Herein, we developed polyurethane-based NGCs incorporating decellularized spinal cord (BWPU-DSC NGCs) to repair peripheral nerves.

Background: Early hematoma expansion (HE) occurs in 20 to 40% of spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) patients and is a primary determinant of early deterioration and poor prognosis. Previous studies have shown that inflammation is a major pathological feature of ICH, and the neutrophil-to-platelet ratio (NPR) is a marker of systemic inflammation. Therefore, we aimed to assess the association between the NPR and HE in ICH patients.
