Purpose: The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of proximal fibular and/or posterolateral joint facet (PJF) fractures on early functional recovery after Schatzker type VI tibial plateau fractures (TPFs).

Methods: Seventy-nine patients with Schatzker type VI TPFs sustained from November 2016 to February 2021 were divided into three groups according to the integrity of the proximal fibula and PJF (groups A, B, and C). Details including demographics, duration of surgery, and complications were recorded.

Recently, MXenes (a class of two-dimensional transition metal carbides) have attracted great attention in various applications such as humidity sensors, owing to their unique electrical and thermal properties. However, previous studies of MXenes mostly focus on their humidity-sensing characteristics such as the mechanical response, and only few reports on their electrical and thermal response are available. Herein, we present novel transient electrothermal experiments to demonstrate that a transition from a negative to a positive resistance-temperature relationship can take place when the MXene sample becomes fully dehydrated.

Hyperbranched poly(-isopropylacrylamide)s (HBPNIPAMs) end-capped with different azobenzene chromophores (HBPNIPAM-Azo-OC₃H₇, HBPNIPAM-Azo-OCH₃, HBPNIPAM-Azo, and HBPNIPAM-Azo-COOH) were successfully synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of -isopropylacrylamide using different azobenzene-functional initiators. All HBPNIPAMs showed a similar highly branched structure, similar content of azobenzene chromophores, and similar absolute weight/average molecular weight. The different azobenzene structures at the end of the HBPNIPAMs exhibited reversible isomerization behavior under alternating UV and Vis irradiation, which lowered the critical solution temperature (LCST) due to different self-assembling behaviors.
