Article Synopsis
  • A new method was developed to create paclitaxel PEG-PLGA nanoparticles (PTX-PEG-PLGA-NP) using a simple and eco-friendly emulsification technique, showing a high drug loading capacity of 10.13% and an entrapment efficiency of 90.26%.
  • The study evaluated how these nanoparticles affected the growth and programmed cell death (apoptosis) of human pancreatic cancer cells (MIAPACA-2), finding that PTX-PEG-PLGA-NP were effective in inducing apoptosis compared to standard paclitaxel treatments.
  • Results showed the nanoparticles had a sustained drug release profile, targeting cancer cells effectively without reducing their growth inhibition capabilities, suggesting potential for future pancreatic cancer therapies

A novel sensor based on the interdigitated structure is presented to detect surface defects in film-coated metals and measure coating thickness. The detection and measurement are based on monitoring the shift of resonance frequency which is caused by the perturbation of electromagnetic field around the interdigitated structure. A 200-μm-wide defect was successfully detected in the experiment.
