Objective: To examine the relationship between the expressions of mismatch repair proteins, MutS homolog 2 (MSH2) and MutS homolog 6 (MSH6), and villin and the pathological features in patients with colon cancer.

Methods: A total of 310 cases of colon cancer patients who were treated at our hospital between January 2017 and September 2021 were selected. The diagnosis of colon cancer of all patients was verified by pathological evaluation.

Background: Lung cancer (LC) remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, with its prognosis influenced by complex biological factors.

Objective: This study delves into the clinical relevance of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and their Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) status in LC patients.

Methods: We enrolled 30 newly diagnosed LC patients and utilized the CanPatrol technique for the separation and categorization of CTCs from peripheral blood samples.

Increasing the level of cyclic adenosine 3, 5'-monophosphate is an important mechanism for axon outgrowth and recovery of central nervous system function. This study aimed to investigate the effects of papaverine, a non-specific phosphodiesterase inhibitor, on axon outgrowth of primary retinal ganglion cells from Sprague Dawley rats. Experiments were performed on primary retinal ganglion cells extracted from Sprague Dawley rat pups within 48-72 h of birth.

We aimed to assess the effects of bradykinin (BK) on the proliferation, apoptosis, and cycle of glomerular mesangial cells via the transforming growth factor-β 1 (TGF-β1)/Smad signaling pathway. Rat glomerular mesangial cells, HBZY-1, were divided into normal group (untreated), model group (5 ng/L TGF-β1), BK group (5 ng/L TGF-β1 + 1 ng/L BK), and inhibitor group [5 ng/L TGF-β1 + 1 ng/L LY2109761 (TGF-β1-specific inhibitor)]. The cell proliferation, cycle, apoptosis, expression of type I collagen (Col-1), and protein expressions of Col-1, TGF-β1, and phosphorylated Smad2 (p-Smad2) were detected by EdU labeling, flow cytometry, acridine orange/ethidium bromide (AO/EB) dual staining, immunofluorescence assay, and Western blotting, respectively.

The objective of the present study was to explore the association between intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM1) polymorphisms (rs5498 and rs3093030) and diabetic foot (DF) susceptibility in a Chinese Han population.128 type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients with DF, 147 T2DM patients without DF, and 155 healthy individuals were enrolled in this study. ICAM1 polymorphisms were genotyped by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP).

A key transcription factor associated with poor prognosis and resistance to chemotherapy in ovarian cancer is NANOG. However, the mechanism by which NANOG functions remains undefined. It has been suggested that epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) also contributes to development of drug resistance in different cancers.
