To address the drinking safety problems associated with high arsenic(III) (As(III)) and bacteria in underground water, core-shell Fe-Ag@AgCl nanowires were synthesized and exhibited excellent photocatalytic oxidation effects on co-existing As(III) and Escherichia coli (E. coli). With the introduction of Fe, the nanowires that were used 5 times could be easily magnetically collected, and the As(III) oxidation effect of these re-chlorinated nanowires increased from 39% to 60%.
