Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is a crucial factor that poses a significant threat to human health. DILI process leads to the changes of reactive oxygen species and reactive nitrogen species content in cells, which leads to oxidative and nitrosative stress in cells. However, the high reactivity of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) and peroxynitrite (ONOO⁻), combined with a lack of in situ imaging techniques, has hindered a detailed understanding of their roles in DILI.

This study focuses on αKG-NHFe enzyme FtmOx1, which catalyzes endoperoxidation, dealkylation, and alcohol oxidation reactions in verruculogen biosynthesis. We explore the hypothesis that the conformational dynamics of the active site Y224 confer the multifunctional activities of FtmOx1-catalysis.

Aim: Repetitive negative thinking (RNT) as a cognitive process in multiple mental disorders is a key risk factor for mental disorders. It is associated with the development and maintenance of the illness. The perseverative thinking questionnaire (PTQ) is an instrument to evaluate RNT with excellent reliability and validity.

The modifications catalyzed by cytochrome P450s significantly influence the structural and bioactivity diversity of the terpenoids. To conduct genome mining of P450s in pathogenic fungi, in this study, we developed a new software called atural roducts iloring Enzymes enome ining (NPtagM).

Methods: A PRISMA checklist was used to systematically review the relevant peer-reviewed literature for the primary data analysis. A computer search of CNKI, Wan Fang Data, CBM, VIP, PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, Scopus, and Ovid databases, all from creation to March 15, 2023.
Four new polyketides, heterocornol Y (), stemphyindan (), pestalospirane C (), and stemphyspyrane (), along with five known ones (-) were isolated from the endophytic fungus 17035 (SG17035) based on the One Strain Many Compounds (OSMAC) strategy allied with an LC-MS approach. These structures were elucidated through extensive spectroscopic analyses, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and C NMR-DP4 analysis. Pestalospirane C () and stemphyspyrane () featured unprecedented spiroketal skeletons.

The objective of this meta-analysis was to investigate the association of diet, parental education and nutrition policy with childhood overweight and obesity when the economic levels were controlled.
Methods: PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and Scopus were searched for observational studies published from January 1980 to October 2023 that examined the association of diet, parental education and nutrition policy with childhood overweight and obesity.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a highly aggressive liver cancer with limited therapeutic options, and enhancing radiosensitivity remains a key challenge in improving treatment outcomes. Quercetin (Que) can inhibit the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC); however, its effect on HCC radiosensitivity remains unclear. This research investigates the role of Que in regulating HCC growth and radiosensitivity, aiming to provide a scientific foundation for enhancing the clinical efficacy of radiation therapy in HCC.

Background: Older adults with cognitive impairment can experience poor oral health due to reduced self-care ability, yet the impact of various oral health indicators on the cognitive ability remains unclear. We investigated the relationship between oral health indicators and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in older adults.
Methods: A cross-sectional study of 234 older adults aged 65 years or over was performed form January to March 2023 at health screening departments of hospitals.
Background: Renal interstitial fibrosis (RIF) is a common feature of chronic kidney diseases (CKD), with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) being one of its important mechanisms. S100A2 is a protein associated with cell proliferation and differentiation, but its specific functions and molecular mechanisms in RIF remain to be determined.
Methods: S100A2 levels were evaluated in three mouse models, including unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO), ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI), and aristolochic acid nephropathy (AAN), as well as in TGF-β1- treated HK-2 cells and in kidney tissue samples.

Terpenoids are known for their diverse structures and broad bioactivities with significant potential in pharmaceutical applications. However, natural products with low yields are usually ignored in traditional chemical analysis. Feature-based molecular networking (FBMN) was developed recently to cluster compounds with similar skeletons, which can highlight trace amounts of unknown compounds.

Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) refers to structural and functional abnormalities of the microcirculation that impair myocardial perfusion. CMD plays a pivotal role in numerous cardiovascular diseases, including myocardial ischemia with non-obstructive coronary arteries, heart failure, and acute coronary syndromes. This review summarizes recent advances in CMD pathophysiology, assessment, and treatment strategies, as well as ongoing challenges and future research directions.

In this work, the vertical transistors with reconfigurable MoTe homojunction are developed for low-power, high-speed, multivalued logic circuits. Through top/bottom dual-gate modulation, the transistors can be configured into four modes: P-i-N, N-i-P, P-i-P, and N-i-N.

The inflammatory cascadedriven by interleukin-6 (IL-6) plays a crucial role in the initiation and progression of chronic inflammatory conditions such as atherosclerosis. Research has demonstrated that prolonged exposure to inflammatory stimuli leads to the development of "immune tolerance" in specialized immune cells such as monocytes and macrophages, serving as a mechanism to prevent tissue damage and curb the inflammatory cascade. However, our recent investigation revealed that immune tolerance did not effectively regulate the production of IL-6 in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) when stimulated by a Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) ligand Pam3CSK4, which is a potent activator of the pro-inflammatory transcription factor NF-κB.
