Purpose: To evaluate the efficiency and safety profiles of a technique of simultaneous reconstruction of traumatic lacrimal duct obstruction and medial canthus deformity using micro-anchors.

Methods: A retrospective interventional study was performed from 2018 to 2022 on 26 consecutive patients who presented with medial canthal deformities and traumatic nasolacrimal duct obstruction. All patients underwent medial canthoplasty using micro-anchors combined with dacryocystorhinostomy to address the traumatic nasolacrimal duct obstruction.

Chemotherapeutic agents, such as paclitaxel (PTX), induce neuroplastic changes and alter gene expression in the prefrontal cortex (PFC), which may be associated with chemotherapy-induced pain and negative emotions. Notably, DNA methylation undergoes adaptive changes in neurological disorders, emerging as a promising target for neuromodulation. In this study, systemic administration of PTX leads to a decrease in the expression of the DNA methyltransferase DNMT3a, while concurrently upregulating the expression of Gabrb1 mRNA and its encoded GABARβ1 protein in the medial PFC (mPFC) of male mice.

The abundant expression of circular RNAs (circRNAs) in the central nervous system and their contribution to the pathogenesis of depression suggest that circRNAs are promising therapeutic targets for depression. This study explored the role and mechanism of circKat6b in esketamine's antidepressant effect. We found that intravenous administration of esketamine (5 mg/kg) treatment decreased the circKat6b expression in the astrocytes of hippocampus induced by a chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) mouse model, while the overexpression of circKat6b in the hippocampus significantly attenuated the antidepressant effects of esketamine in depressed mice.

Proinflammatory cytokines are crucial contributors to neuroinflammation in the development of chronic pain. Here, we identified il16, which encodes interleukin-16 (IL-16), as a differentially expressed gene in spinal dorsal horn of a complete Freund's Adjuvant (CFA) inflammatory pain model in mice by RNA sequencing. These six compounds were [TiO(TBC[6])] (), {Ti(TBC[6])(EtO)(SaH)} (, HSa = squaric acid), {Ti(TBC[6])(EtO)(Oa)} (, HOa = oxalic acid), [HTi(TBC[6])(BA)(EtO)] (, HBA = benzoic acid), [TiO(TBC[6])(BA)(OPr)] (), and [Ti(TBC[6])(Sal)(EtO)] (, HSal = salicylic acid). Metastasis and chemical resistance are the most serious problems in the treatment of highly aggressive uveal melanoma (UM). The newly identified lncRNA OUM1 is overexpressed in UM, functions as a catalyst and regulates protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) activity by binding to PTP receptor type Z1 (PTPRZ1), which plays an important role in cell proliferation, metastasis and chemotherapy resistance in the UM microenvironment. Hence, siRNAs that selectively knocking down the lncRNA OUM1 (siOUM1) and its target gene PTPRZ1 (siPTPRZ1) were designed to inhibit the OUM1/PTPRZ1 pathway to reduce PTP activity, and this reduction in activity interrupts protein tyrosine phosphorylation, suppresses UM proliferation and metastasis and improves cisplatin sensitivity in UM cells.
