Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on the impact of psychological interventions aimed at reducing diabetes distress in individuals with type 2 diabetes, evaluating both short- and long-term effects.
  • Researchers conducted a systematic review, analyzing 18 studies and found that these interventions, particularly mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy, effectively reduce diabetes distress in the short term, especially in group settings and when using technology.
  • However, the interventions did not show significant effects on long-term blood sugar levels (HbA1c), indicating that while they help with psychological aspects, they may not directly influence metabolic control.

Introduction: Raddeanin A (RA), a potent triterpenoid extracted from Anemone raddeana Regel, has a moderate therapeutic effect on prostate cancer (PCa), correlating with serious biological toxicity. Therefore, a RA-loaded PEGylated liposome drug delivery system was devised in this study.

Methods: Hydrogenated soybean phospholipids (HSPC), 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-Polyethyleneglycol-2000 (sodium salt) (DSPE-PEG2k), cholesterol (CHO), and RA were utilised to prepare a RA-loaded liposome (LRA) drug delivery system via the thin film hydration technique.

Background: Aphasia is one of the most devastating cognitive disorders caused by brain injury and seriously hinders patients' rehabilitation and quality of life. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation involves the repeated application of extracranial pulsed magnetic fields to the local central nervous system to alter the membrane potential of cortical nerve cells, generating induced currents that affect brain metabolism and electrical activity. As one of the most popular noninvasive brain stimulation techniques, it has been used to treat aphasia.

Background: Wound healing is a complex and dynamic process that involves a series of cellular and molecular events. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and their exosomes (MSC-Exos) have crucial functions in cutaneous wound healing. MiR-17-92 is a multifunctional microRNA (miRNA) cluster that plays vital roles in tissue development and tumor angiogenesis.

Uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC) is one of the most common malignancies of the female genital tract. A recently discovered protein-coding gene, PPP1R14B, can inhibit protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) as well as different PP1 holoenzymes, which are important proteins regulating cell growth, the cell cycle, and apoptosis. However, the association between PPP1R14B expression and UCEC remains undefined.

Background: The incidence and mortality of uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC) are increasing yearly. There is currently no screening test for UCEC, and progress in its treatment is limited. It is important to identify new biomarkers for screening, diagnosing and predicting the outcomes of UCEC.

Exposure to atrazine (ATR), a widely-used herbicide, is a potential harmful to human health due to its long-term environmental persistence and bioaccumulation. The effects of chronic exposure to ATR on renal function in rats were evaluated in this research. Female Sprague-Dawley rats at 4 weeks of age were treated with different concentrations of ATR for 6 months.

Article Synopsis
  • Gomisin A (GA) is identified as a key component that helps combat drug resistance in ovarian cancer cells.
  • The study utilized human ovarian cancer cell lines and a mouse model to explore the effects of GA and paclitaxel (PTX) on tumor growth, with various assays conducted to assess their combined impact.
  • Findings suggest that GA may enhance the effectiveness of PTX by lowering reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, leading to cell cycle arrest, representing a potential new approach to chemotherapy for ovarian cancer.

To carry out the translation and cultural adaptation of the attitude towards pressure ulcer prevention instrument for use in Chinese and to analyse the validity and reliability of the adapted version of the questionnaire. In this quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study, after translation of the questionnaire from English to Chinese, back-translation, and assessment of equivalence between the original and back-translated version by an expert panel, the Chinese version instrument was assessed by a convenience sample of registered nurses in several hospitals in cities of China. The internal consistency and content validity of the instrument was tested, and a confirmatory factor analysis was also performed.
