Fruit appearance of eggplant is a key commercial trait, and the precise selection of new varieties with diverse aesthetics aligns with current breeding objectives. However, functional genomics research in eggplant remains underdeveloped. Here, we assembled the first telomere-to-telomere (T2T) eggplant genome, as well as chloroplast and mitochondrial genomes for the inbred line 'NO211'.

Finding practical solutions for utilizing agricultural organic wastes has always been a challenge. To address this, our study investigated the effects and mechanisms of different exogenous organic waste fermentation solutions on alleviating Cd stress in plants using hydroponic experiments. Out of the seven fermentation solutions examined, pea fermentation liquid (T3), chicken manure (T5), molasses (T6), and chitosan oligosaccharide broth (T9) exhibited positive effects.

Morel is a popular edible mushroom with considerable medicinal and economic value which has garnered global popularity. However, the increasing heavy metal (HM) pollution in the soil presents a significant challenge to morels cultivation. Given the susceptibility of morels to HM accumulation, the quality and output of morels are at risk, posing a serious food safety concern that hinders the development of the morel industry.

Water-dispersible conjugated polymer nanoparticles (CPNs) have demonstrated great capabilities in biological applications, such as cell/subcellular imaging and biosensing, or tissue imaging and disease treatment. In this review, we summarized the recent advances of CPNs used for tumor imaging and treatment during the past five years. CPNs with different structures, which have been applied to solid tumor imaging (fluorescence, photoacoustic, and dual-modal) and treatment (phototherapy, drug carriers, and synergistic therapy), are discussed in detail.

Accurate diagnosis and treatment of tumors, one of the top global health problems, has always been the research focus of scientists and doctors. Near-infrared (NIR) emissive semiconducting polymers dots (Pdots) have demonstrated bright prospects in field of in vivo tumor fluorescence imaging owing to some of their intrinsic advantages, including good water-dispersibility, facile surface-functionalization, easily tunable optical properties, and good biocompatibility. During recent years, much effort has been devoted to developing Pdots with emission bands located in the second near-infrared (NIR-II, 1000-1700 nm) region, which hold great advantages of higher spatial resolution, better signal-to-background ratios (SBR), and deeper tissue penetration for solid-tumor imaging in comparison with the visible region (400-680 nm) and the first near-infrared (NIR-I, 680-900 nm) window, by virtue of the reduced tissue autofluorescence, minimal photon scattering, and low photon absorption.

Preferred-handed propeller conformation was induced by circularly polarized light irradiation to three amorphous molecules with trigonal symmetry, and the molecules with induced chirality efficiently exhibited blue circularly polarized luminescence. In both chirality induction and luminescence, chirality appeared to be amplified due to intermolecular interactions through π-stacking.
