Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells are the recognized cell strain for influenza vaccine production. However, the tumorigenic potential of MDCK cells raises concerns about their use in biological product manufacturing. To reduce MDCK cells' tumorigenicity and ensure the safety of influenza vaccine production, a B-cell lymphoma extra-large (Bcl-xL) gene, which plays a pivotal role in apoptosis regulation, was knocked-out in original MDCK cells by CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology, so that a homozygous MDCK-Bcl-xL-/- cell strain was acquired and named as BY-02.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 85 patients who underwent arthroscopic surgery at Hanzhong Central Hospital between October 2016 and October 2021, including 42 patients treated for rotator cuff injuries alone (Group A), and 43 patients for frozen shoulder combined with rotator cuff injuries (Group B). Both groups underwent general anesthesia with controlled hypotension during surgery.

To develop a high efficient and eco-friendly approach to remediate cadmium (Cd) contaminated soil, we designed the activation and extraction systems, on the basis of combined effects between the ability of organic acids to activate Cd and the ability of mushroom accumulator (Lentinus edodes) to extract Cd. The results showed that the proportion of acetic acid-extractable Cd significant increased with the application of exogenous organic acids. Additionally, soil microecology analysis indicated that exogenous organic acids evidently enhanced the numbers of microbial cells and the activities of soil enzymes.
