In this study, an alginate/PEG hydrogel was developed via a thiol-Michael addition reaction between oxidized quinone of catechols on dopamine-grafted sodium alginate (SA-DA) and sulfhydryl groups of 4-arm polyethylene glycol tetra-thiol (4-arm PEG-SH) under mildly basic conditions. Through the formation of thiol-terminated catechol groups, the accompanying oxidized catechols are reduced, significantly strengthening the internal network structure of the hydrogel and improving tissue adhesion. Meanwhile, the hydrogels have excellent self-healing properties due to the dynamic non-covalent bonds between the groups.

Excessive exposure to metals in daily life has been proposed as an environmental risk factor for neurological disorders. Oxidative stress is an inevitable stage involved in the neurotoxic effects induced by metals, nevertheless, the underlying mechanisms are still unclear. This study investigated the impacts of microwave reheating (MR), boil reheating (BR), and steam reheating (SR) on the flavor profile of Ceramic-Pot Sealed Meat (CPSM). Electronic nose and tongue revealed that the microwaving was superior in preserving the original olfactory and gustatory profiles of CPSM compared to the other methods. Headspace- Gas chromatography- ion mobility spectrometry (HS-GC-IMS) detected 48 compounds, encompassing 15 alcohols, 11 aldehydes, 9 ketones, 7 esters, 2 alkenes, and 2 others, 1 acid.

Background: In this study, we developed a nomogram predictive model based on clinical, CT, and MRI parameters to differentiate soft tissue rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) from neuroblastoma (NB) in children preoperatively.

Materials And Methods: A total of 103 children with RMS (n=37) and NB (n=66) were enrolled in the study from December 2012 to July 2023. The clinical and imaging data (assessed by two experienced radiologists) were analyzed using univariate analysis, and significant factors were further analyzed by multivariable logistic regression using the forward LR method to develop the clinical model, radiological model, and integrated nomogram model, respectively.

The study compared and analyzed the quality of loquat jam with different cooking times through physicochemical parameters, headspace-gas chromatography-ion migration spectroscopy (HS-GC-IMS) and intelligent senses. The results showed that with the prolongation of the cooking time, the color of loquat jam slowly deepened, the energy significantly increased, the adhesiveness, gumminess, hardness and chewiness enhanced, the free amino acid content increased from 22.40 to 65.

Maize flowering stage (from tasseling to silking) is more fragile to environmental stresses, and this stage frequently overlapped the plum rain season in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze river in China and affect the yield and quality of spring-sown maize severely.
