Ovarian cancer, a highly lethal form of gynecological cancer globally, has witnessed notable advancements in its treatment through the integration of nanotechnology and immunotherapy. Here, we designed a novel astragalus polysaccharide vector (PDA), encapsulating podophyllotoxin (PPT), and modifying methotrexate (DSPE-PEG-MTX) on its surface for targeting ovarian cancer cells with high folate receptor expression. We prepared novel MTX-modified PPT-loaded astragalus polysaccharide micelles (MTX-PPT-micelles) by dialysis method and evaluated their characterization, stability, safety and targeting ability.

One potential treatment approach that has gained attention is the use of matrix metalloproteinase reactive controlled release micelle preparations. In this study, we developed a novel PEG-PVGLIG-hyaluronic acid docetaxel/bakuchiol (PP-HA-DTX/BAK) micelles formulation with desirable characteristics such as particle size, narrow polydispersity index, and a ZETA potential of approximately -5 mV.

The encapsulation process of the substrate into the [GaL] cavity was simulated via attach-pull-release (APR) methods. Thermodynamic calculations and classical molecular dynamics simulations assessed the substrate's microenvironment inside the cavity, guiding DFT-level modeling of the reaction.

Treatment outcomes are ungratified due to the presence of blood-brain barrier (BBB), glioma stem cells (GSCs) and multidrug resistance (MDR). Docetaxel (DTX) is considered as a potential drug for the treatment of brain tumor, but its effectiveness is limited by its low bioavailability and drug resistance.

Numerous studies have demonstrated that Sch B has a neuroprotective action by reducing oxidative stress and effectively preventing inflammation. It follows that Sch B is a potential treatment for Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Several studies and clinical trials have demonstrated that resveratrol (Res) and salidroside (Sal) are not only biologically safe but also influence AD biomarker trajectories. However, their clinical applications have been quite limited due to poor specificity, low solubility, and insufficient blood-brain barrier (BBB) penetration.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTreatment of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is a challenge because it still leads to unsatisfactory clinical prognosis. This is due to the toxicity and poor targeting of chemotherapeutic agents, as well as metastasis of the tumor. In this study, we designed a targeted liposome with nanostructures to overcome these problems.

Fishbone is the most common ingested gastrointestinal foreign matter and is less than 1% perforate. However, a fishbone penetrating the gastrointestinal tract and causing granulomatous inflammation of the greater omentum with local suppuration is not common. Because of the nonspecific clinical symptoms, gastrointestinal perforation may be manifested only as dull abdominal pain, which is often ignored and timely clinical treatment may be delayed.

In this work, an anti-AD brain-targeted nanodrug delivery system by co-loading icariin (ICA) and tanshinone IIA (TSIIA) into Aniopep-2-modified long-circulating (Ang2-ICA/TSIIA) liposomes was developed. Low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein-1 (LRP1) was a receptor overexpressed on the BBB.

We systematically investigated intratumoral heterogeneity, clonal structure, chromosomal instability (CIN), and immune microenvironment in T4N0M0 (≥7 cm) NSCLCs.
Methods: Whole-exome sequencing, RNA sequencing, and multiplex immunohistochemistry (mIHC) staining were conducted to analyze 24 spatially segregated tumor samples from eight patients who were pathologically diagnosed with T4N0M0 (diameter ≥ 7 cm) NSCLCs.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by synovial joint hyperplasia, joint inflammation, cartilage erosion and bone destruction. Macrophages play an essential role in the pathogenesis of RA, and folate receptor β (FR-β) is highly expressed on the surface of activated synovial macrophages in RA patients. Triptolide (TP) has anti-inflammatory properties, and it can protect the cartilage matrix, but its clinical application has been limited due to poor solubility, low bioavailability and systemic toxicity.

In recent years, the treatment of tumor with nano-targeted agents has become a potential research focus. In this study, a new type of short cell-penetrating peptide RPV-modified paclitaxel plus schisandrin B liposomes were constructed to disrupt VM channels, angiogenesis, proliferation and migration for the treatment of ovarian cancer.

Objective: To investigate the expression of miR-22-3p in breast cancer and the mechanism of targeting PLAGL2 to inhibit the invasion and migration in human breast cancer.
Study Design: An experimental study.
Place And Duration Of Study: Department of Oncology and Department of General Surgery, The People's Hospital of China Three Gorges University, China, from March 2019 to December 2020.
Purpose: To investigate the clinical performance, pathological characteristics, treatment and prognosis of salivary gland malignant tumor (SGMT) with skull base metastasis.
Methods: Five SGMT patients with skull base metastasis were retrospectively studied. Major clinical symptoms included headache, facial paralysis, and ear hearing loss.
Early detection and diagnosis are the key to successful clinical management of pancreatic cancer and improve the patient outcome. However, due to the absence of early symptoms and the aggressiveness of pancreatic cancer, its 5-year survival rate remains below 5 %. Compared to tissue samples, liquid biopsies are of particular interest in clinical settings with respect to minimal invasiveness, repeated sampling, complete representation of the entire or multi-site tumor bulks.

Background: This study aimed to deconvolve the levels of infiltrating immune cells in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and to identify specific gene co-expression modules associated with prognosis of NSCLC.
Materials And Methods: CIBERSORT algorithm was employed to infer the relative abundance of 22 immune cell subtypes in 1751 NSCLC subjects. The patterns of immune infiltration were identified for NSCLC with different clinical and genomic features and were used to construct an immunoscore by LASSO regression associated with NSCLC survival.
Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the most lethal types of cancer with highly infiltrating. Chemotherapy is far from satisfactory, vasculogenic mimicry (VM) and angiogenesis results in invasion, migration and relapse.
Purpose: The objective of this study was to construct a novel CPP modified vinorelbine and dioscin liposomes by two new functional materials, DSPE-PEG-MAL and CPP-PVGLIG-PEG, to destroy VM channels, angiogenesis, EMT and inhibit invasion and migration.
Osthole (Ost) is a coumarin compound and a potential drug for Alzheimer's disease (AD).
