Precise imaging-guided therapy of a pulmonary metastasis tumor is of great significance for tumor management and prognosis. Persistent luminescence nanoparticles (PLNPs) are promising probes due to their excitation-free and low-background imaging characteristics. However, most of the PLNP-based probes cannot intelligently distinguish between normal and tumor tissues or balance the needs of targeted accumulation and rapid metabolism, resulting in false positive signals and potential side effects.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have promising applications in enhanced phototherapy. However, COFs that can sustainably play a role in phototherapy without continuous irradiation are extremely scarce. Herein, we report the fabrication of porphyrin-anthracene multifunctional COFs (Por-DPA) for sustainable photosterilization and bacterial-infected wound healing.

The first mixed-valence nanocluster Cu/Cu with the highest percentage of Cu ions was synthesized by using 4--butylcalix[4]arene (Calix4), with the formula DMF⊂[(CO)@CuCu(Calix4)Cl(DMF)(HO)]•DMF (), as a photothermal nanocluster. Its structure was characterized using single-crystal X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and powder X-ray diffraction. In addition, the charge state and chemical composition of the nanocluster were determined using electrospray ionization spectrometry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) spectrum.

Objective: To describe the clinicopathological and imaging features of mixed endometrial stromal and smooth muscle tumors with intracardiac extension and to explore the diagnostic value of dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) for this rare entity.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study analyzed the clinicopathological data and images of a 41-year-old female patient with pathologically documented mixed endometrial stromal and smooth muscle tumors with intracardiac extension who had undergone DECT examination. Seven virtual monoenergetic images (VMIs) in 10-kiloelectron volt (keV) intervals (range = 40-100 keV), iodine density (ID) maps, and Z effective (Zeff) maps were reconstructed, and lesion conspicuity was assessed.

Atomically precise silver nanoclusters (Ag-NCs) are known as a hot research area owing to their brilliant features and they have attracted an immense amount of research attention over the last year. There is a lack of sufficient understanding about the Ag-NC synthesis mechanisms that result in optimal silver nanoclusters with an appropriate size, shape, and morphology. In addition, the coexisting flexible coordination of silver ions, the argentophilic interactions, and coordination bonds result in a high level of sophistication in the self-assembly process.

Article Synopsis
  • A new type of silver-based polymer supercapacitor (SSc) was developed using a simple one-step synthesis process, resulting in a high-nucleus silver nanopolycluster with strong structural and electrochemical properties.
  • The SSc-2 showed impressive performance with a high capacitance of 412 F g at a current density of 1.5 A g and maintained 94% of its capacitance over 7000 cycles at 3 A g.
  • Key advantages of SSc-2 include the presence of fluorinated groups, the 3D structure of the metallic clusters, and porosity, which enhance its stability, conductivity, and capacity, addressing common challenges in supercapacitor technology.

We report the synthesis and structure of the first all-carboxylate-protected superatomic silver nanocluster. It was prepared by heating a dimethylformamide solution of perfluoroglutaric acid and AgNO under alkaline conditions, yielding a single crystal of [(CH)NH][Ag(pfga)]. The [Ag(pfga)] cluster has a rhombohedral Ag core, with each of its faces protected by one dianionic perfluoroglutarate (pfga) ligand.

Farmland drainage ditch soil can consume part of the agricultural non-point nitrogen through nitrification-denitrification processes. Paddy fields, vegetable land, and orchards are the main types of land uses in the Taihu Lake region, and many drainage ditches are distributed across these lands. The way exogenous nitrogen is imported to drain ditches under different land uses differs significantly, which can directly affect the nitrogen consumption ability of the channels.
