Objective: The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of hedgehog-interacting protein (HHIP) overexpression on the proliferation, migration and invasion of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Methods: Firstly, HHIP gene expression data of NSCLC tissues and normal tissues were obtained from GSE18842/GSE19804/GSE43458 databases of the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database and then validated by TCGA NSCLC database in a cohort of 1027 cases of NSCLC patients and 108 cases of normal people. A chi-square test was used to analyze the relationship between HHIP expression and clinicopathological characteristics of NSCLC.
Aim: The present study evaluated the value of serum ferritin (SF) level for the prognosis of patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC).
Patients & Methods: A total of 79 patients with LAPC treated by chemoradiotherapy were reviewed retrospectively. Pretreatment and post-treatment levels of SF were obtained.
Background: The aim of the present study was to investigate the use and value of maximum standardized uptake value (SUV max) on positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) images as a prognostic marker for patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC).
Materials And Methods: The medical records of all consecutive patients who underwent PET/CT examination in our institution were retrospectively reviewed. Inclusion criteria were histologically or cytologically proven LAPC.
Aim: There is increasing evidence that ERCC1 and XPD have roles in response to chemotherapy among patients with NSCLC, but the results are conflicting. Therefore, we conducted the present prospective study in a Chinese population.
Methods: A total of 632 primary NSCLC patients were included, followed-up from May 2006 to May 2011.

Aim: We conducted a meta-analysis to analyze the influence of GSTM1 and GSTT1 gene polymorphisms on cervical cancer risk, and explore gene-environment interactions.
Methods: Identification of relevant studies was carried out through a search of Medline and the EMbase up to Oct. 2011.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of C-reactive protein (CRP) level on the prognosis of patients with locoregionally advanced laryngeal carcinoma treated with chemoradiotherapy. Fifty-seven patients with locoregionally advanced laryngeal carcinoma (cT3-4, N0-3, M0) treated with chemoradiotherapy were reviewed retrospectively. Chemoradiotherapy comprised external beam radiotherapy to the larynx (70 Gy) with three cycles of cisplatin at 3-week intervals.

Objective: To study the effects and mechanism of apigenin on the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells.
Methods: MDA-MB-231 cells were used as the study object. MTT assay was used to detect the effect of apigenin on the cell viability.
