To investigate the role of co-stimulatory and co-inhibitory molecules on immune tolerance in immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), this study mapped the immune cell heterogeneity in the bone marrow of ITP at the single-cell level using Cytometry by Time of Flight (CyTOF). Thirty-six patients with ITP and nine healthy volunteers were enrolled in the study. As soluble immunomodulatory molecules, more sCD25 and sGalectin-9 were detected in ITP patients.

Background: The sympathetic nerve is known to regulate immune responses in autoimmunity. Aberrant T cell immunity plays a vital role in immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) pathogenesis. The spleen is the primary site of platelet destruction.

Background: Decreased serum hemoglobin (Hb) level is associated with Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) progression. However, whether serum Hb level is an independent prognostic factor of IgAN remains controversial. Herein, we aimed to investigate the prognostic value of serum Hb level in IgAN.

An UPLC-MS/MS method for rapid and simultaneous determination of psoralen, isopsoralen, apigenin, genistein, bavaisoflavone, neobavaisoflavone, bavachin, bavachinin, psoralenoside, and isopsoralenoside of Psoraleae Fructus in beagle dog plasma was established, and then the method was applied in the pharmacokinetic study after oral administration of Psoraleae Fructus extract to beagle dogs. The pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated by the software of WinNonlin. A Waters HSS-T3 column(2.

Globally, postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is the leading cause of maternal death. Women with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) are at increased risk of developing PPH. Early identification of PPH helps to prevent adverse outcomes, but is underused because clinicians do not have a tool to predict PPH for women with ITP.

Objective: To study the anti-hypertrophic scar effect of the six-herb Chinese medicine composition (SCMC) ointment on the rabbit ear hypertrophic scar models.

Methods: The optimal formulation of SCMC ointment matrix was screened by the orthogonal designs and a series of evaluation tests. The SCMC ointment was prepared through emulsifying method.

Background: Peri-procedural myocardial injury (PMI) during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) will result in an unfavorable clinical prognosis in patients, thus urgently necessitating effective drug treatment measures. Shen-Yuan-Dan (SYD) capsules are a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparation that have been found to have potential myocardial protection effects during the peri-procedural phase of PCI in previous clinical and basic research; however, there is a lack of rigorous, randomized, and controlled studies. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of SYD in decreasing PMI.

Objective: To study the effect of low- and intermediate-dose factor VIII (FVIII) for prophylactic treatment of severe hemophilia A in children by comprehensively evaluating the outcomes of the joints.

Methods: Forty-seven children with severe hemophilia A (FVIII activity ≤2%) were enrolled in this study. Eighteen of the children received prophylactic treatment with low-dose FVIII (10 U/kg, 2-3 times a week), 20 received prophylactic treatment with intermediate-dose FVIII (15-30 U/kg, 3 times a week), and 9 received on-demand treatment with FVIII infusion when bleeding occurred according to the Chinese Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Hemophilia.

Endometriosis is a common gynecological condition in childbearing age women and its therapy in modern medicine achieves usually temporary cure. Ping-Chong-Jiang-Ni formula (PCJNF), a Chinese herbal medicine (CHM), was shown to be clinically effective on endometriosis. Meanwhile, c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) signaling pathway was involved in the therapeutic process of CHM on endometriosis.

Background: Increased amounts of soluble E-cadherin (E-cad) have been found in the serum in various cancers, but the role of serum soluble E-cad in the prognosis of breast cancer patients has not been explored in Asian populations.

Material/method: Blood samples from 111 consecutive patients diagnosed with breast cancer and 55 healthy controls were investigated.Serum soluble E-cad expression levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) with an immunoassay kit according to the manufacturer's directions.

Objective. The correlation between meridians and organs (Zang-fu) is an important aspect of meridian theory. The objective of this paper is to investigate the pathological changes in the organs resulting from blocking low hydraulic resistance channel (LHRC) along the stomach meridian by injecting gel in pigs so as to offer some insight into the correlation between meridians and internal organs.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how 4-phenyl butyric acid (PBA) affects the growth of human gastric cancer cells and the underlying mechanisms involved.
  • Human gastric carcinoma cell lines SGC-7901 and MGC-803 were treated with varying concentrations of PBA, and their proliferation and cell cycle distributions were analyzed.
  • Results indicated that PBA inhibits cancer cell growth in a dose- and time-dependent manner, causing different cell cycle arrests: SGC-7901 at G₀/G₁ and G₂/M phases, and MGC-803 at G₀/G₁ and S phases.

Synopsis of recent research by authors named "Xue-Yan Sun"

  • - Xue-Yan Sun's recent research primarily focuses on immune-related disorders, particularly immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), utilizing advanced techniques such as single-cell proteomic mapping to explore immune cell heterogeneity and the role of immune-modulatory molecules in patients with ITP.
  • - Studies have highlighted the therapeutic potential of β2-adrenergic receptor agonists in correcting immune abnormalities associated with ITP by restoring T cell differentiation, alongside efforts to develop predictive models for postpartum hemorrhage in pregnant women with ITP.
  • - Additionally, Sun has contributed to the evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine, assessing its efficacy in treating conditions such as hypertrophic scars and peri-procedural myocardial injury, indicating a broader interest in integrating conventional and alternative medicine approaches in clinical research.
