Article Synopsis
  • Treatment options like brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and human umbilical cord blood stem cells show promising progress for optic nerve injuries.
  • A study on rabbit models demonstrated that after receiving these treatments, specific biomechanical indicators like maximum load and stress significantly improved over 30 days.
  • The results indicate that both BDNF and stem cells can help repair optic nerve damage and enhance recovery by improving the nerve's structural integrity.
