DEK is a protein ubiquitously expressed in multicellular organisms as well as certain unicellular organisms. It is associated with the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, apoptosis, senescence, self-renewal and DNA repairing. In tumor cells it is associated with the carcinogenesis process, however there have been few previous studies into the expression of DEK in lung cancer.
