surgery and autotransplantation may provide a promising option for radical resection of conventionally unresectable liver tumors. Two cirrhotic patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), which has an "awkward seat" located in the "intrahepatic vascular triangle area (IVTA)" that consists of the middle hepatic vein (MHV), the right branches of the Glisson sheath, and the inferior vena cava (IVC), underwent extended right-half hepatectomy followed by tumor resection and partial liver autotransplantation. Innovatively, the outflow of the tumor-free liver was reconstructed using pre-frozen allograft blood vessels from brain-dead donors; the patients recovered well postoperation.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcute cellular rejection (ACR) is a prevalent postoperative complication following liver transplantation (LT), exhibiting an increasing incidence of morbidity and mortality. However, the molecular mechanisms of ACR following LT remain unclear. To explore the genetic pathogenesis and identify biomarkers of ACR following LT, three relevant Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) datasets consisting of data on ACR or non-ACR patients after LT were comprehensively investigated by computational analysis.

However, information regarding Bsister (Bs)-function genes in monocots is still limited. Here, we describe the functional characterization of a Bs-group MADS-box gene FEMALE-STERILE (FST), whose frame-shift mutation (fst) results in abnormal ovules and the complete abortion of zygotic embryos and endosperms in rice.

Differences were observed among mitochondrial genomes of the sterile line (A) and maintain line (B) of nine types of CMS rice; Mitochondrial genomic differences were also detected between A and B in many functional gene regions. Even the materials with the same nucleic background have differences in their mtDNA.

In order to elucidate the relationship between genetic lineage and pathotype of P. grisea of Yunnan Plateau as well as the variability of the fungus at DNA level, the repetitive element-based PCR (rep-PCR) of Pot2, an element found in approximately 100 copies in the fungus genome, was exploited.
