Background: Targeting tumor metabolism reprogramming has demonstrated a synergistic antitumor effect in photodynamic therapy of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). However, such a combination therapeutic regimen has encountered challenges, such as limited photosensitizer bioavailability and severe drug toxicity.

Methods And Results: Herein, ultrasmall metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) nanodots (MSPC) that encapsulate metabolism inhibitors and mitochondria-targeted photosensitizers are designed and fabricated for synergistic photodynamic therapy (PDT) of TNBC.

Endothelial necroptosis plays a crucial role in regulating cancer metastasis. Our previous research demonstrated that TC14012, which is an agonist of CXCR7, exhibits protective effects against endothelial injury. This study was designed to elucidate the effects of TC14012 on endothelial necroptosis and cancer lung metastasis, along with deciphering the underlying molecular mechanisms.

This study explored the efficacy of CO₂-MA with variable CO₂-O₂ concentrations (TA: 2 % O₂ + 35 % CO₂, TB: 14 % O₂ + 35 % CO₂, TC: 21 % O₂ + 35 % CO₂, TD: 21 % O₂ + 60 % CO₂) in controlling and preserving rice quality. TD exhibited the highest efficacy, achieving rapid and complete pest mortality within 48 h, particularly in the resilient pupal stage, and nearly 100 % mortality under grain-embedded conditions within 10 days. Quality assessments revealed that TD effectively mitigated lipid oxidation by reducing aldehydes and alcohols, major contributors to rice aging and off-flavors while maintaining acceptable enzymatic activities and VOC profiles.

In image-guided surgery (IGS) practice, combining intraoperative 2D X-ray images with preoperative 3D X-ray images from computed tomography (CT) enables the rapid and accurate localization of lesions, which allows for a more minimally invasive and efficient surgery, and also reduces the risk of secondary injuries to nerves and vessels. Conventional optimization-based methods for 2D X-ray and 3D CT matching are limited in speed and precision due to non-convex optimization spaces and a constrained searching range. Recently, deep learning (DL) approaches have demonstrated remarkable proficiency in solving complex nonlinear 2D-3D registration.

: The voluntary recall and ban of several textured breast implant models worldwide, secondary to their association with Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, has limited the key benefit of a textured surface─positional stability. We have engineered a Positionally Stable Smooth Implant (PSSI) containing millimeter-scaled cylindrical wells on the implant surface for capsule ingrowth and device stabilization. : To evaluate the long-term positional stability of PSSI designs and characterize capsule formation.

Axitinib resistance remains a serious challenge in the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC), and the underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. Here, we constructed an in vivo axitinib-resistant RCC model and identified the long non-coding RNA STX17-DT as a driver of therapy resistance in RCC. The expression of STX17-DT was significantly elevated in axitinib-resistant RCC cells and correlated with poorer prognosis in RCC patients.

Despite a well-established and growing body of work on nickel(0) precatalysts, the potential of nickel(0) complexes as bifunctional precatalysts remains underexplored. In this study, we synthesized, characterized, and evaluated the catalytic activity of (Ni(0)(DQ)dtbbpy), a bifunctional, red-light-sensitive, and air-stable nickel(0) complex. Owing to its unique photophysical properties, it effectively catalyzed the etherification and amination of aryl bromides under 620-630 nm light irradiation, functioning as both a photocatalyst and an active metal catalyst.

The performance of electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensing platforms, especially the sensitivity, relies on an efficient signal enhancement mechanism and presents a critical challenge in developing novel strategies simultaneously. In this work, we reported a multivalent redox reversible conversion-enhanced ECL strategy based on the redox reactions of two pairs of multivalent metal elements on the electrode surface. TiO-loaded Eu(OH) (Eu(OH)@TiO) was introduced as a dual-enhanced coreactant accelerator to catalyze the oxidation process of tripropylamine (TPrA), thus improving the reaction rate at the sensing interface and the ECL strength of the luminophore.

CCR2, a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily, is widely expressed on monocytes, macrophages, activated T cells, and other cell types, and plays a critical role in coordinating the immune response to various infections. Here we demonstrate that CCR2 expression is significantly elevated during Chlamydia muridarum (C. muridarum) respiratory infection, and its absence leads to exacerbated susceptibility, as evidenced by significant weight loss, higher bacterial loads, severe lung pathology, and elevated levels of inflammatory cytokines (il-1β, tnfα, and il-6).

Perovskite single crystals have garnered significant attention due to their impressive properties in optoelectronic applications, including long carrier diffusion lengths, low trap-state densities, and enhanced stability. Methylamino lead halide perovskite (MAPbX, where X is a halogen such as Cl, Br, or I) is a notable example of a metal halide perovskite with desirable properties and ideal cubic perovskites with a tolerance factor between 0.9 and 1.

The technique of spectral polarization imaging (SPI) is a potent detection tool in various fields due to its ability to capture multi-dimensional information. However, existing SPI systems usually face challenges associated with architectural complexity and computational requirements, rendering them unsuitable for handheld, on-board, and real-time applications. Consequently, a compact single-shot multispectral polarization imager (CSMPI) is proposed, which employs a combined spectral-polarization encoding strategy to address the aforementioned issues.

A library comprising twenty-four isosteric derivatives of celecoxib substituted with carboxylic acid (labeled as 5a-5x), was synthesized and characterized through H NMR, C NMR, HRMS, and elemental analysis. Molecular docking studies revealed that all compounds successfully docked into the binding pocket of COX-2, and the introduction of carboxyl group enhances the interaction between the derivatives and COX-2. The compounds were further evaluated for cell toxicity, and in vitro anti-inflammatory activity.

Carbonylation of aryl electrophiles is an important method for constructing aromatic carbonyl compounds for materials science and pharmaceutical applications. However, there have been few studies on the carbonylation of abundant, inexpensive aryl chlorides. Moreover, the existing carbonylation methods usually require a high temperature, control of the CO pressure, and structurally complex catalysts and ligands.

Background: Chromosomal instability (CIN), a hallmark of cancer, is commonly linked to poor prognosis in high-grade prostate cancer (PCa). Paradoxically, excessively high levels of CIN may impair cancer cell viability. Consequently, understanding how tumours adapt to CIN is critical for identifying novel therapeutic targets.
