Lung cancer is a leading fatal malignancy in humans. p53 mutants exhibit not only loss of tumor suppressor capability but also oncogenic gain-of-function, contributing to lung cancer initiation, progression and therapeutic resistance. Research shows that p53 mutants V157F and R158L occur with high frequency in lung squamous cell carcinomas.

The two compounds were synthesized by a simple one-pot method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD), powder XRD, FT-IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis in the solid state. Furthermore, their catalytic properties for the selective oxidation of thioethers were also studied systematically.
