To screen for specific transcription factors (TFs) that induce expression of the HMGB1 promoter in response to stimulation by Ang-II. A HMGB1 overexpressing vector and small interfering (si)RNA were constructed and used to transfect the three HCC cell lines used in scratched monolayer wound healing and Transwell assays. Methods: Four HCC cell lines, including HepG2, Bel7404, Huh7, and PLC5, the normal hepatocellular cell line MIHA, and 30 HCC biopsies were included in this study. Potential miRNAs, which interact with Bmi-1 and are involved in the development of HCC were identified through bioinformatic analyses.
Background And Aim: Antimitochondrial antibody (AMA) is considered the serological hallmark of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), while data regarding the profile of AMA during ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) treatment are scarce. Here, we assessed the influence of UDCA treatment on titers of AMA and factors relevant to its production.
Methods: Serum IgA-AMA, IgM-AMA, IgG-AMA, B cell-activating factor of the tumor necrosis factor family (BAFF), and the frequency of circulating plasmablasts were detected in PBC patients, including those who received UDCA therapy for 24 weeks, healthy controls, chronic hepatitis B patients, and autoimmune hepatitis patients.
Unlabelled: The serological hallmark of primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) is the presence of high titer and specific antimitochondrial antibodies (AMAs). Although there is no global immune defect in patients with PBC, there is widespread dysregulated B-cell function, including increased sera levels of immunoglobulin M and enhanced B-cell responses to cytosine-phosphate-guanine stimulation. The mechanisms involved in this B-cell dysfunction have remained unknown.

Investigations of this locus using a Chinese population may indicate whether the findings initially identified in a European population are generalizable to other populations, and may provide new insight into the role of genetic variants in the etiology of breast cancer. Primary follicular immunoblastic lymphoma (FIBL) is an extremely rare lymphoma. The positive expression of CD10 suggests the lymphoma originating from germinal centers (GC) and CD138-positive expression generally indicates plasmablastic or plasmacytic differentiation. We report such a rare case in a Chinese female patient and analyze the clinicopathologic and immunohistochemical features of this disease.

These findings were confirmed in a subsequent independent study. However, it remains unknown whether these loci are associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer (CRC).
