Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a combination of immediate implant placement with maxillary sinus augmentation (MSA) solely using platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) on guided bone regeneration.
Materials And Methods: An interventional before-after (pre-post) study design was used with 30 dental patients (≥18 years of age; 14 males and 16 females) with initial bone heights ranging between 4 and 6 mm. Following the general check-up and the creation of a study model, the planned implant location demonstrated an external right maxilla diameter of more than 5 mm, thereby validating the cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) radiograph.
Purpose: Online circular contrast perimetry provides visual field testing on any computer or tablet without additional hardware. This study compared outcomes of online circular contrast perimetry (OCCP) and standard automated perimetry (SAP) in a developing world setting.
Methods: The longitudinal and observation study was conducted on patients sampled during 2023 at Hanoi Medical University Hospital.
Pt nanoparticles (diameter <3 nm), generated by metal vapor synthesis and supported on a high surface area carbon, were used to catalyze the aerobic oxidation of ethylene glycol to glycolic acid (GA) in water under neutral and basic reaction conditions. Controlled heat treatment of the catalyst under a nitrogen atmosphere brought about the formation of a morphologically well-defined catalyst. A combination of atomic resolution electron microscopy, CO stripping voltammetry, and XPS analyses conducted on as-synthesized and heat-treated catalysts demonstrated the crucial role of the nanoparticles' morphology on the stabilization of catalytically highly active Pt-OH surface species, which were key species for the Pt-catalyzed oxidation of the alcohol to the carbonyl functionality.

These ligand-free Pt NPs were rapidly dispersed onto a solid support or stabilized towards aggregation as a colloidal solution by the addition of an appropriate ligand in the reaction mixture. The proposed protocol exploits a microfluidic platform where the Pt precursor is photo-reduced to small Pt NPs (1.

Our objective was to evaluate early adoption of this device into patient care within our pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). This is a qualitative study using inductive analysis of semi-structured interviews to identify dominant themes.

Our objective was to evaluate early adoption of this device into patient care, understand how it affected clinical workflow, and identify unforeseen benefits or limitations.
Design: Qualitative study using inductive analysis of semi-structured interviews to identify dominant themes.
Accumulation of sphingolipids, especially sphingosines, in the lysosomes is a key driver of several lysosomal storage diseases. The transport mechanism for sphingolipids from the lysosome remains unclear. Here, we identified SPNS1, which shares the highest homology to SPNS2, a sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) transporter, functions as a transporter for lysolipids from the lysosome.

Among the most prevalent neurodevelopmental disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly diverse showing a broad phenotypic spectrum. ASD also couples with a broad range of mutations, both de novo and inherited. In this study, we used a proprietary SNP genotyping chip to analyze the genomic DNA of 250 Vietnamese children diagnosed with ASD.

Objectives: To compare maternal outcome measures in surgical management of placenta accreta spectrum (PAS)-the modified one-step conservative uterine surgery (MOSCUS), a new approach at Tu Du Hospital in Vietnam, versus cesarean hysterectomy, and to identify factors that appear to contribute to the successful outcome of the MOSCUS.
Methods: This retrospective study was conducted at Tu Du Hospital in southern Vietnam between January 2019 and December 2020. The study enrolled all pregnant women at more than 28 weeks of pregnancy with a diagnosis of PAS who underwent either a cesarean hysterectomy or a uterus-preserving approach using the MOSCUS method.
Raman spectroscopy is one of the most efficient and non-destructive techniques for characterizing materials. However, it is challenging to analyze thin films using Raman spectroscopy since the substrates beneath the thin film often obscure its optical response. Here, we evaluate the suitability of fourteen commonly employed single-crystal substrates for Raman spectroscopy of thin films using 633 nm and 785 nm laser excitation systems.

The interventions that played an important role in the improvement of the patient's quality of life (QoL) and health-related quality of life (HRQL) can be classified into two main groups: pharmaceutical and non-pharmacological methods. However, studies so far often analyze a specific group of interventions for specific types of cancer.

The nationwide performance of Vietnam's RASR strategy has yet to be evaluated. This study aims to evaluate the performance and feasibility of RASR in Vietnam, thereby providing recommendations for improved RASR.

Background: Spontaneous hemoperitoneum in pregnancy (SHiP) refers to fluid collection in the abdominal cavity with a vague presentation of clinical symptoms. Particularly, SHiP causes a life-threatening condition with the coexistence of intrauterine pregnancy, since this dangerous complication significantly increases the maternal and fetal mortality. Herein, we present two cases of nontraumatic SHiP in the second and third trimester of pregnancy, respectively.

Consequently, both biomedical therapeutics and psychological interventions have been implemented to decrease the burden of this non-communicable disease. However, the research conducted so far has only described some aspects of these interventions, which may increase the health-related quality of life of cancer patients.

Rarely, this pathology can occur in the uterus without a history of uterine surgery, localize at unusual site of the uterus, and result in the spontaneous uterine rupture. We herein reported two unusual cases managed successfully in the third trimester of pregnancy at our tertiary referral hospital.
