Background: Over the past few years, the development of telerehabilitation has advanced rapidly. Patients with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) often have difficulty with mobility, making it challenging for them to perform centre-based exercise. This study aims to compare the effectiveness and adherence of home physical therapy (HPT) and telerehabilitation (TR) in mitigating motor symptoms and improving the quality of life in patients with mild to moderate Parkinson's disease.

Prostate cancer (PCa) gradually becomes the most common cancer in men in many countries, of which circRNAs and methylated modification exert an essential role in PCa progression. However, the concrete mechanisms of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification of circRNAs in PCa remain unclear. In our study, we identified circRPS6KC1, a novel and up-regulated circular RNA in PCa, through circRNA sequencing.

DNA repair is directly performed by hundreds of core factors and indirectly regulated by thousands of others. We massively expanded a CRISPR inhibition and Cas9-editing screening system to discover factors indirectly modulating homology-directed repair (HDR) in the context of ∼18,000 individual gene knockdowns. We focused on CCAR1, a poorly understood gene that we found the depletion of reduced both HDR and interstrand crosslink repair, phenocopying the loss of the Fanconi anemia pathway.

Several studies have indicated that circular RNAs (circRNAs) play vital roles in the progression of various diseases, including bladder cancer (BCa). However, the underlying mechanisms by which circRNAs drive BCa malignancy remain unclear. In this study, we identified a novel circRNA, circPSMA7 (circbaseID:has_circ_0003456), showing increased expression in BCa cell lines and tissues, by integrating the reported information with circRNA-seq and qRT-PCR.

In order to alleviate the resource and environmental problems caused by plastic film materials, the development of biodegradable cellulose-based films is crucial. Inspired by the strengthening mechanism of cellulose-lignin network from wood, carboxylated lignin (CL) was isolated using maleic acid (MA) pretreatment catalyzed by metal chlorides. Compared with pure MA, the presence of metal ions yielded CL with high carboxyl content (0.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) induces B and T cell responses, contributing to virus neutralization. In a cohort of 2,911 young adults, we identified 65 individuals who had an asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection and characterized their humoral and T cell responses to the Spike (S), Nucleocapsid (N) and Membrane (M) proteins. We found that previous infection induced CD4 T cells that vigorously responded to pools of peptides derived from the S and N proteins.

To discuss the effects of 12 weeks of jump rope training on dynamic balance and stroke stability in junior tennis players. Sixteen junior tennis players at CTN7 level were used as subjects and randomly divided equally into ExG and ConG for 12 weeks of training, 3 times a week. The ExG performed Jump Rope training and Special Preparation Activity (JR + SPA), the ConG performed only Special Preparation Activity (SPA) to ensure that the training intensity was basically the same.

To compare the risk of osteoporotic fractures between the urban and urban-rural fringe populations in southern China and to explore the effect of bone turnover markers on fracture risk. Epidemiological investigations were conducted in the urban and urban-rural fringe areas of southern China in June 2018. Residents aged 40 years and over who signed informed consent forms were included.

The exploration of functional films using sustainable cellulose-based materials to replace plastics has been of much interest. In this work, two kinds of lignin nanoparticles (LNPs) were mixed with cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) for the fabrication of composite films with biodegradable, flexible and ultraviolet blocking performances. LNPs isolated from -toluenesulfonic acid hydrolysis was easily recondensed and deposited on the surface of composite film, resulting in a more uneven surface; however, the composite film consisting of CNFs and LNPs isolated from maleic acid hydrolysis exhibited a homogeneous surface.

Iron homeostasis is essential for maintaining cellular function in a wide range of cell types. However, whether iron affects the thermogenic properties of adipocytes is currently unknown. Using integrative analyses of multi-omics data, transferrin receptor 1 (Tfr1) is identified as a candidate for regulating thermogenesis in beige adipocytes.

Background: Cleft palate results from the defective palatal fusion of the medial-edge epithelium after cells undergo epithelial-mesenchymal transition, a process that involves regulation by microRNAs (miRNAs). However, in palatal shelf fusion, miRNA regulation by long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) when acting as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) or miRNA sponges, remains unclear.

Methods: We systematically analyzed the correlation between lncRNAs, miRNAs, and mRNAs from RNA sequencing profiling in embryonic gestation day 14.

Objective: Cleft palate (CP) is a congenital birth defect caused by the failure of palatal fusion. Little is known about the potential role of DNA methylation in the pathogenesis of CP. This study aimed to explore the potential role of DNA methylation in the mechanism of CP.

DNA methylation is essential for spatiotemporally-regulated gene expression in embryonic development. TBX22 (Chr X: 107667964-107688978) functioning as a transcriptional repressor affects DNA binding, sumoylation, and transcriptional repression associated with X-linked cleft palate. This study aimed to explore the relationship and potential mechanism between TBX22 exon 5 methylation and palatal shelf fusion induced by all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA).

Three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting allows embedding of cells within a bioink, creating cell-based 3D structures to promote tissue regeneration and repair. The bioink should be biocompatible with the cells and its effect on cell behavior should be determined. Alginate-gelatin (Alg-Gel) blends with mouse planta dermis (PD) induced epidermal progenitors for sweat gland regeneration, confirming the role of 3D support during the process.

Background: Autophagy and apoptosis are involved in embryogenesis. However, little is known about the regulatory mechanism of -mediated autophagy and apoptosis associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in the development of cleft palate (CP). This study is aimed to elucidate a novel regulatory mechanism by which regulates autophagy and apoptosis associated with EMT during palatal fusion.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) serve as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) and indirectly regulate gene expression through shared microRNAs (miRNAs). However, the regulatory mechanisms of circRNA as ceRNA associated with the fusion of palatal shelves in palatogenesis are yet unclear. This study aimed to explore the potential mechanism underlying the role of circRNA as ceRNA in cleft palate (CP).

Background: Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of the medial edge epithelium (MEE) occurs through fusion of the palatal shelves and is a crucial step in palatogenesis. The key genes, however, and the related signaling pathway of EMT are not yet fully understood. Therefore, the aim of this study was to reveal the key genes and the related signaling pathway of EMT during palatal fusion.

However, the regulatory mechanisms during EMT of the medial edge epithelium (MEE) remain elusive. The aim of this work is to reveal a novel lncRNA-regulated dysfunction of EMT involved in the development of cleft palate (CP).
