As an important member of global aquaculture, oysters (Crassostrea gigas) have significant economic value. With the development of commercial aquaculture, the frequent occurrence of diseases caused by Vibrio alginolyticus has become a hindrance to high-density aquaculture. In this study, multispectral imaging (MSI) was used to screen flesh slices from 20 edible fish species commonly found in the sea around Yantai, China, by combining identification based on the mitochondrial gene. We found that nCDA images transformed from MSI data showed significant differences in flesh splices of the 20 fish species.

The aims of this study is to describe the inflammatory profile of HoFH patients and explore the effect of a PCSK9 inhibitor (PCSK9i) on a series of inflammatory biomarkers, including the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), monocyte-HDL ratio (MHR), monocyte-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) and mean platelet volume-lymphocyte ratio (MPVLR).
Methods: In this prospective cohort study, 25 definitive HoFH patients on high-intensity statins plus ezetimibe were administered subcutaneous injections of 420 mg PCSK9i every 4 weeks (Q4W).

There were five nitrogen (N) treatments, including 360 kg·hm(N, a rate commonly adopted by local farm households), 270 kg·hm(N), 150-180 kg·hm(N), 75-90 kg·hm(N) and 0 kg·hm(N). We investigated the effects of reduced nitrogen application on maize yield, nitrogen uptake and utilization of spring maize and soil nitrate residue.

A single quantum dot serving as a charge sensor is integrated to scalable double quantum dots using local top finger-gate techniques on two neighboring pure-phase InAs nanowires. The single dot built on one nanowire capacitively couples one of the double dots constructed on another nanowire via a metal bridge gate. The charge occupation states of double quantum dots can be accurately monitored by the sensor even in a few-electron regime in which transport tunneling current through the double dots vanishes.

As a carbon-storage compound and osmoprotectant in brown algae, mannitol is synthesized and then accumulated at high levels in Saccharina japonica (Sja); however, the underlying control mechanisms have not been studied. Our analysis of genomic and transcriptomic data from Sja shows that mannitol metabolism is a cyclic pathway composed of four distinct steps. A mannitol-1-phosphate dehydrogenase (M1PDH2) and two mannitol-1-phosphatases (M1Pase1 and MIPase2) work together or in combination to exhibit full enzymatic properties.
